GREAT FLASHBACK EPISODE
markq-7565428 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode goes back five years showing us the original titans. We get to see Dick, Donna, Hank and Dawn as well as Garth. This episode gives us a good fell of the team. It give us their chemistry together, we also get introduced to Garth AKA Aqualad.

We get to see Garth fight in his suit, we also get to see his relationship with Donna. He's loved sense they were 12 and just wants to be with her. They finally get together and when all seems good Deathstroke kills him.

This adds a mystery, why would Deathstroke kill Aqualad. Most likely someone he was hired to kill, but who hired him. And why does he want Aqualad dead?

This episode is just so great seeing the team fight together. And build towards the vendetta they have with Deathstroke.

At the end we get Dick talking to Jericho. Dick obviously has something planned but what?

So much fun stuff in this episode that also gets you excited for what is to come.

Much needed flashback episode that has great writing and is incredible
Holt34429 September 2019
The story doesn't progress, instead we get an episode with much needed flashbacks from 5 years ago in regards of the story. What we got was 40 minutes of great television, with stunning drama, fight sequences and great visual effects with the old gang together. As the episode indicates, this episode features Aqualad and its a joy to see him in live action form. All the characters are so different from where they are now and it's a plus as it shows us that the Titans are different now and the whole atmosphere is different. Superb writing in this episode with great dialogue and references. The costume department did an incredible job as always, creating comic accurate costumes which is just so damn nice to see.

My favorite parts of the episode was all the character interaction, Deathstroke in action and Aqualad. This season is off to an amazing start, giving us a fresh and unique story but you can clearly see the references and clear throwbacks to a lot of characters in the world of DC. I felt that this flashback episode was really needed as it gave us light of dialogue and past events of this season but also giving us an understanding of how everything went down until the first season begins and everything makes sense.

This series is the best superhero series ever, even better than Smallville and is the only actual tv series which can keep my attention more than one season.Titans is the only one superhero tv series for mature people (sorry Arrow-verse) and not for teenagers.

An extremely strong episode!

Warning: Spoilers
"Aqualad" was a great change of pace - which Titans often does as with last season's "Donna Troy" and "Hank and Dawn" - where the focus of the episode is put on the supporting cast rather than the main 4. As much as I love Kory, Rachel and Gar and really want to see more development from their characters, this episode provided us with much needed insight on why the Titans originally fell apart. The episode showed us a side of Donna Troy that was so different from her present day persona, which really highlights her as probably the most mature/wise present day Titan, and gives her development meaning. The foundation laid down by this episode makes deathstroke seem like a much more threatening villain (although Esei already gave off that vibe with just his few minutes of screen time in "Trigon") and it gives Deathstroke a personal connection to the Titans, making his motive more powerful.

The very best of the season!

Warning: Spoilers
Yes this was the flashback episode but It was really great. And Titans previously had actually great flashback episodes last season.

I liked that we finally saw original Titans. They all had a great chemistry and they were a family. We saw a real Titans fight against Dr.Light and it was good. I really liked Aqualand as a character and he & Donna were so good together. I hate that they killed off him. He was under used. Like seriously wtf i know it gave a motive for Titans to battle Deathstroke but still dumb move. They could at least show him more times than just killing him in the first episode.

A terrible flashback episode with a patch of awesomeness
chrchance28 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
1. The chemistry between the group was severely lacking or noticeably forced, either because of the terrible material the cast was given to work with or just the direction of it all. Most scenes/moments were just pure cringe, like that horrible football tossing in a middle of a serious discussion.

2. Why would you decide to use a flashback to show a relationship between two characters, only to have 90% of that same relationship be about flashbacks of what happened long ago and offscreen?

Deathstroke and Garth's death were the only redeeming qualities of this episode.

Parts of a single wire.
deepakdst30 September 2019
This episode have made this new villian more interesting than ever and not only the villian but titans are also a crucial part of this fight i.e. the revenge will be for both sides, so get ready for the action. The most awesome was the ending revealing a very interesting connection of the truth we are aware but only a little. So yes that son of _(spoiler) have a very special past with Titans.

The GIFTED are the best superhero show so far, but Titans SEASON 2 is really close!
jere_zabala30 October 2019
The gifted is by far the best(and maybe the only)superhero show, titans season 1 was a big disappointment, the story was bad, boring, slow, no action, no powers, no original character, starfire looked like a hooker totally the opposite to the comics, but this season is really improving a lot, I dont know if they changed the writers or what, but it seens like a totally different show, it's more similar to the amazing comics

I Don't Like it at All
gostuffawesome6 October 2019
I couldn't tell we were in the past for a solid 10 minutes and Aqualad the title character I honestly he was gonna rape Donna Troy (he doesn't thankfully) and for that matter he has no sense of being charming or charismatic I don't know if it's him or the director the writer or a combination but it's terrible

Nice Background
boudybob28 September 2019
Well, again another flashback episode before important turn around in events nothing new here you did the same trick in the past season but the timing this time is right.

It's good to understand the relationship between death stroke and the old gang but to be honest the show is very slow i mean i really had to pause the episode and continue after a bit coz i got bored.

Flashback Miscast
timothycormack29 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
An interesting storyline showing an original Titan who had a long-term crush on Donna Troy, and they end up sleeping together, and then he is killed.

Not sure why they made this Aqualad when all of this happened to Speedy (Roy Harper) in the comics.

Other than that, the flashback was a good episode, establishing relationships from five years ago. Donna Troy is arguably the best representation of a DC character since Zatanna on Smallville.

The rest are quickly becoming closer to who they should be (and weren't in season one). Dick is becoming the archetype leader, Dawn is becoming less violet, Kori isn't dressing like a stripper, Rachel is becoming a little more grounded, and Gar is changing into more than just a tiger. Of course, Jason is the punching bag - the Robin who gets captured and tortured - which will eventually lead to his metamorphosis into Red Hood. Rose is just as annoying as she is in the comics, so there's at least that...
