Adam mentions that they should do Die Hard in an airport which is the plot of Die Hard 2 (1990) and Die Hard on a bus which is basically "Speed" (1994).
The 'melon farmer' edit is a reference to when Die Hard 2 (1990) was edited for broadcast and John McClane inexplicably says, 'Yippee Ki-yay, Mister Falcon', instead of the recognised line.
The episode title is based on John McClane's famous line in Die Hard, "Yippee Ki Yay, motherfucker." The title could also be a joke about what a showing of Die Hard on broadcast or basic cable television might have him saying in order to not completely censor the line.
