Ty Griss (Tyler Griss) is the founder and CEO of UFreightEze. Ty Griss and UFreightEze seems to an allusion to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers found in the country of Iraq. Within the boundaries of those rivers, otherwise known as Mesopotamia (Greek for the Land between two rivers), were founded a number of empires whose culture had a strong influence on Western Civilization (Mesopotamia is also known as the Cradle of Civilization): Law of Hammurabi, Cities, writing, iron, bronze, weaponry, the wheel, mathematics, and irrigation.
In Blaine's offices, there was a Vanitas portrait (painting with a skull in the foreground). A vanitas painting is a particular style of still life that was immensely popular in the Netherlands beginning in the 17th century. It is suppose to serve as a reminder of human mortality, and how material possessions do not preclude someone from death.

The title is a pun with reference to the 1958 film The Matchmaker (1958), and also the 1969 film Hello, Dolly! (1969) - both based on the book The Matchmaker, and the actress playing the matchmaker bears a striking resemblance to Barbara Streisand, who starred in the latter film as Dolly Levi.
