The drilled hole is treated like a critical emergency but is actually a quick and simple repair with a plug, epoxy and duct tape. The crew had plenty of time to react and repair.
When drilling the hole from within the crew quarters, with a 50-50 chance of piercing the skin of the ship, they would surely have some sort of patch kit on-hand. Even duct tape might work to seal such a small hole.
When checking how much water they have, Lu says "24 ounces, maybe". Therefore it is reasonable to expect that the international crew in Away should be measuring the water levels in millilitres (and litres).
A mission control specialist states that Atlas experienced "loss of vacuum" in the crew quarters, when in fact it was the opposite. Air was lost into space, resulting in a vacuum.
At the start of the episode, Misha is floating while asleep and snoring loudly. Astronauts do not snore while in micro-gravity.
