This review is only about this episode and what made no sense. SPOILERS

Warning: Spoilers
I've never been i outer space or even worked for NASA, but I do know physics quite well. I also know the mental fitness ALL astronauts are required to have before even being considered for the title of astronaut. With that said, what made the 'suspense' part of this episode was when Hillary Swank went EVA to try and fix a partially deployed solar panel. She finds that one of the guide wires jumped it slot and has to pull it out where it's stuck to try and get it back to correct position. First she sees it from the inside and says she has no leverage and can't do it. Then she chooses to ask the Russian who has the most space experience of the entire crew and has said he doesn't trust her as commander. But he chooses to trust her to untether herself and swing around to the other side because her husband recovering from brain surgery in the hospital built the craft and knows she has connection points on the other side. She gets there and only then pulls out a pick-like tool and tries pulling the stuck cable out of where it's stuck, but slips. The tool goes flying off and she travels backwards about 4 feet and she lying there as if she's been knocked out. How does a person with above average intelligence not know the simple principle of using leverage to move an object? She could have simply put the pick between the hinge where the cable was stuck and lever the cable out instead of being stupid and trying to pull it out. And then why does such a short flight with a sudden stop cause her to be knocked out briefly? None of these things make any sense. Of course, the solar panel gets fixed and everyone is happy and now the Russian has a better opinion of her. Ugh! I agree with others who talk bout much better space travel shows set in a near present day situation, but I'll hope the story and acting will overcome the poor physical details and inaccuracies.

I Love You, Sh#&head.

Warning: Spoilers
We pick up with the crew communicating with their various governments and families from the first hours of the trip to Mars, from the Moon. Lex is back at home, or rather staying with a family friend....

Oh wow, is that Felix Gaeta from BSG??? Great to see him in this show even in Limited role.

+1 Star for Gaeta!!! As Dr. Madigan in this.

So there is a malfunction in one of their 3 solar panels and the mission is in danger of not having enough power to make it.

Matt is feeling much better and is able to talk now altho he is missing feeling in at least one leg. Might be paralyzed on one side.

Emma and Misha are assigned space walk to repair the problem with the solar panel..... This should be interesting. Are they able to work together after Misha's attempt to throw Emma under the bus during the fire incident in episode 1???

Everyone is watching their space walk on camera. Mission Control, Matt....

To get to the other side of the array, Emma has to unclip her tether. A ballsy move, risking her life. She manages to fix the snag, but there is a problem. And Misha has to come to her aid. For a brief moment, Emma's life is in Misha's hands. Here is Misha's chance to launch Emma into space!! But Misha saves her instead. And all is good.

And we get some more flashback sequences at the end of Emma and Matt, and their relationship.

+1 Star for the solid scenes with Emma and Misha on the spacewalk.

Better, But.......
Hitchcoc7 September 2020
The space walk redeems the episode. It is exciting but as heroic as it is, it seems to sow more dissension, this time from a different member of the team. If I assume correctly, that solar panel array had to be implemented or everything goes off the track. So the comment near the end is really unfair. Again, there is the whole soap opera thing going on with the adversarial forces clashing. But they live to fight another day.

Tether is stille out there?
annius-583605 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When Emma detaches herself from the tether she attached to the back of the solar array, the tether is left behind. I wonder if that's going to be causing problems later in the show.

Pathetic

Warning: Spoilers
So, let me get this straight. This is the most advanced space ship ever built by humans, and this is the most well prepared crew... but the spacewalk strategy is to literally pick someone up and throw them without a tether. Horrible unrealistic writing.

And they forgot about the electrical issue, which I guess just magically fixed itself. Don't bother watching this show if you're the kind of person that pays attention to detail, because you'll also notice continuity errors like the position of the "stuck" metal wire. Bad bad bad.

The Ministry of Silly Spacewalks
sloanlance9 September 2020
The spacewalk scene in this episode is ridiculous. It's insulting to the viewers' intelligence. There's no need for anyone to untether. In reality, they'd have so many tethers available. Even their tools would be tethered.

Also, where are the cameras to document the technical problems? Doesn't NASA want to know more about the problem the astronauts went on EVA to correct?
