Good news for all you Brolin-heads! Amazon Prime Video’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by one very intriguing TV project starring Thanos himself.
The Josh Brolin-starring Outer Range premieres April 15 and looks like it could be a wild ride. The synopsis is terse and reads “A rancher fighting for his land and family stumbles upon an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, forcing a confrontation with the Unknown in ways both intimate and cosmic in the untamable American West.” That, combined with an enigmatic first trailer, has our interest piqued.
Also on the TV side of things this month is season 2 of the beautifully rotoscoped series Undone on April 29. Rosa Salazar returns as Alma, a woman who may have become unstuck in time to help save her scientist father’s life. Before that, the British TV series The Outlaws makes its debut...

With its list of new releases for January 2022, Amazon Prime Video is keeping things pretty simple. The streaming giant is rolling out a couple of original films, one big TV effort, and a whole host of library content, then calling it a day. And really, that’s all you need!
The two Amazon original films this month are of the family friendly variety. The Tender Bar, based on a memoir of the same name and directed by George Clooney, premieres on Jan. 7. This is followed on Jan. 14 by Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. This is the fourth installment in the animated Hotel Transylvania series, hammering home the fact that if you bring Adam Sandler and Genndy Tartakovsky aboard you project, things are gonna go pretty smoothly.

Jackie Tohn still remembers the day her bestie Kristen Bell cosigned on her musical education dream.
Tohn, a former American Idol contestant and Glow actress, wanted to give kids who no longer have arts education programs in their schools a colorful and unassuming way to learn about various musical instruments and styles. That’s when she tested out a prototype on Bell’s oldest daughter Lincoln with the help of her creative partner Michael Scharf.

Though the summer movie season is winding down (if it ever really started this year), Amazon Prime’s list of new releases for September 2021 is chock full of worthwhile movie options.
For starters, Amazon’s library movie titles are quite good this month. September 1 sees the arrivals of heavyweights such as Apollo 13, Arachnophobia, Romeo + Juliet, The Descent, and The Social Network. And if that weren’t enough, the streamer is trying out some intriguing original movies as well. Cinderella, a modern update on the classic fairy tale, premieres on September 3. That will be followed by “exotic thriller” The Voyeurs (Sept. 10), musical adaptation Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Sept. 17), and French thriller The Mad Woman’s Ball (Sept. 17).

Exclusive: Narcos producer Gaumont has appointed Michelle Sullivan, a former Amazon Studios kids development executive, as its vice president of animation and family content.
Sullivan will join Gaumont’s Los Angeles office in August after leaving Amazon Studios in July last year. She has worked as an independent producer and digital consultant for the past year.
Sullivan will report to Terry Kalagian, senior vice president of creative development for animation and family content, and is tasked with sourcing projects to be developed into animated and live-action series.
She is no stranger to Gaumont having worked closely with the company at Amazon Studios to develop the forthcoming animated series Do, Re & Mi, starring The Good Place actress Kristen Bell.
Among Gaumont’s other animated projects is Sir Paul McCartney’s long-gestating film High In The Clouds, which was picked up by Netflix last December.

Gaumont’s animated comedy “Bionic Max” has been greenlit by France’s Gulli, the kids entertainment channel owned by Lagardere.
Created by Gaumont’s Thomas Digard and Manu Klotz, “Bionic Max” is a buddy comedy between two very different but lovable friends: Max, the first and only prototype for a bionic guinea pig born in a laboratory, and his best friend Jean-Claude, a goldfish. The 2D animated series, which skews kids from 6 to 11 years old, follows their adventures as express delivery boys in the middle of Central Park.
“We have been developing ‘Bionic Max’ with Gulli for several months now, and are incredibly excited that we can move forward with the production of this series that is full of high-energy and slapstick fun,” said Nicolas Atlan, the president of animation and family at Gaumont, who announced the deal with Caroline Cochaux, the managing director of Lagardère Active TV and CEO of Gulli.
