The sound effects man in the radio studio was referred to as a foley artist, but Jack Foley, after whom the term is named, didn't start working in sound effects until after the introduction of sound into films in the late 1920s. Foster Hewitt made his first sports broadcasts in 1923, so the episode must be set before that.
The "On Air" sign at the radio station is printed in the font Arial Black (from 1982).
