Okay idea and execution - for a commercial, that is Warning: Spoilers
Reading the title of this "movie": Dior: Miss Dior - What would you do for love?, takes probably so long that half of the film is almost over when you're done with it. This short we have here only runs for 45 seconds approximately and as the name already gives away is a commercial by elite perfume manufacturer Dior for their new fragrance. Well, what was their new fragrance back in 2017 I'd say. They got Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman to appear in here and we see her hug and argue her significant other in what looks more like a quick trailer for a movie in my opinion. I liked the car scene spelling the word "love" in the sand at the beach. But other than that, there wasn't that much substance really. Of course it is tough to make something memorable in under a minute, but yeah what can I say. I don't think director Emanuel Cossu succeeded here, although without the stunning Portman this would have been worse. And probably never exist on imdb. The question she asks at the end into the camera is one that did feel a bit pretentious though. The artistic component that may have been there earlier was gone for me then. Not really that moment, but seconds after when the "film" ends. I still think it is above-average for a commercial like I also wrote in the title of my review and 2 or 3 shots are beautiful like the hugging in the train bench and Portman's dress there. However, here on this site I am supposed to rate and review it as a movie, not as a commercial, so I give it a thumbs-down as a whole. Still go check it out if you like Portman. Also kinda fits well for her in a year when she gave one of her career-defining performances as Jackie Kennedy during the same time approximately. Oh yeah they played Sia's Chandelier in the background from beginning to end. That would be another plus for me! Still, not enough for a positive reccommendation. You can always go for the music video instead. Maddie Ziegler is worth it.
