Twenty five [25] deaf and hard-of-hearing actors play supporting and background roles in "RUN." Many drove from Pennsylvania, Michigan, Tennessee and Indiana and shot 9 scenes in only one weekend in Cleveland and Ravenna, Ohio.
Rural stores were kind to allow the use of their establishments, but they insisted on remaining open for business. Every few minutes, director/cinematographer Craig Otto had to yell "hold for a customer!" as another person would walk by or linger over an item. Patrons at the pet food store were so confused why there were Christmas decorations up in April (when it was shot) and mistook Janet MacGregor Jones, who plays Brenda, for the actual cashier.
Many of the supporting roles in "RUN" are played by family members of its star, Frankie Valenti--even the cat! Frankie's mother plays the nurse, and Erin, Courtney and Joe are his cousins.
Weather plays a central character in "RUN," so in order to capture each season, production in Ohio lasted nine [9] months.
