Narrator: One ordinary day in May, three magical Goddesses of Fate found themselves on the doorstep of a loveable college student named Keiichi Morisato. They had joy and laughter and many adventures together. And everyone was happy. Soon after their college days had ended, the Goddesses sold out and became an Anime Pop Culture Phenomenon that was shortly killed off two seasons later by the Evangelion movies. And then there was that whole apocalypse thing, followed by the five brand new planets thing, followed by the Individual Me's and Attack on Yggdrasil thing, and the Girl Meets World alternate universe thing, followed by another terrorist attack in a Blade Runner Wonkavator, shit... where were we?... oh yes, the new Doctor What. I wonder where the hell they were planning on taking that without Charlie Day...?
Belldandy: Yes, where were we planning on taking that?
Urd: Well... you know this whole time we've been avoiding his true calling. Instead of going into Doctor What's world, we brought him into ours to try and maintain the atmosphere of the Oh My Goddess universe.
Skuld: Maybe we should start going on his adventures. Maybe it'll be good therapy for him, to get him back on his feet.
Belldandy: No, this has to be more than that. The only way to restore his confidence is to help him face down his worst enemy... namely himself.
Keiichi Morisato: His worst enemy? But this guy's worst enemies are the movies he starred in.
Belldandy: But Doctor What can jump us into the movies.
Urd: You're suggesting we jump him into one of his old movies and give him an alternate reality?
Keiichi Morisato: No, I'm suggesting we jump him into the one movie he should've done, but bailed out on. The one that represents the alternate road he may have taken.
Belldandy: But what if he's perfectly happy with the life he's chosen?
Keiichi Morisato: Perhaps he is, and I'm not suggesting that we replace that life. I'm suggesting we do this as a moral booster to rebuild his confidence in himself. To face his worst enemy is to face down himself.
Urd: But if it's the one movie he didn't want to do, then how are we going to get him to go along with it?
Keiichi Morisato: We'll do what everybody else does... lie to his ass.
Belldandy: Keiichi, I'm forbidden from lying. This might backfire on us if he asks the right questions.
Urd: He might not remember that. If he says anything you don't want to answer, just stay silent and we'll talk for you.
Belldandy: Is that going to be believable?
Keiichi Morisato: Given the way this series portrayed you... yes. Yes it is.
