"A History of Violence" both refers to the anger and aggression passed from father to son in black households (in a twisted way, to "prepare" the younger generation to the brutality of the outside world) and the violence hidden in our museum of History, where the placid displays of far and near artefacts may not reflect the gruesome story of how they were acquired.
