- The BAU heads to East Allegheny, Pennsylvania to investigate the story of teenager Ally Macready who stumbled out the wooded area known as Dead Man's Conservatory to report that she saw the "Tall Man", who is holding her two friends, Chelsea Davis and Bethany Wilson. The Tall Man is an old fashioned "dare to go into the woods" local legend which as of late has exploded in popularity among the locals on the Internet. The story of the Tall Man is that he will cut you until you divulge your deepest, darkest secrets. Ally's injuries are consistent with the legend. JJ accompanies the team to East Allegheny, her hometown, where she vowed never to return due to her traumatic childhood, with her parents always fighting and her older sister Roslyn Jareau, eighteen at the time, having committed suicide, an eleven year old JJ who found her dead body in the family's bathtub. JJ still wears the necklace Roslyn gave to her shortly before she died. JJ is well aware of the Tall Man legend and can provide insight into the matter. The doctor's examination of Ally and the team discovering some information about her background provide some real world clues as to what's going on, at least in explaining the inconsistencies of her story. As the team gets further into the investigation, the more and more difficult it becomes for JJ as it dredges up old feelings of why she vowed never to return, especially as what is happening now may be connected to what happened to Roslyn, with Chelsea's father, Tom Davis, being Roslyn's serious boyfriend just before she killed herself.—Huggo
