I waited for this story on pins and needles, I knew the premise and I hoped for the best. I wasn't disappointed. The God of Comics Neil Gaiman was kind to give us a glimpse of a slice of the Multiverse where Chloë remains an actress, in a wry twist, an actress playing a police officer.
This glimpse shows the result of a bullet having its trajectory changed by a breath's width, saving John Decker's life. We get a cascade of changes: Chloë is never inspired by her father's death, never joins the police force, never meets Dan the Douche, never has a daughter Trixie. She instead has a career after "High School Hot Tub", becoming a well known actress in the "Weaponizer" franchise.
Dan remains corrupt, never being touched by Chloë's wholesomeness. but still known to Lucifer, but this time as "Detective Dildo". Ella works in her own chop shop, again known to Lucifer. Dr Linda hasn't been changed by her relationship with Lucifer, rather by Chloë. Mazikeen is far more sadistic. Charlotte remains a scummy lawyer.
The twisty turns of the new Decker and Morningstar relationship bring us to a satisfying resolution that suggests that some things in life are inevitable.
