Komposing Klowns (2001)
*** (out of 4)
This here is a fun featurette with composer John Massari who discusses his work on the 1988 classic KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE. If you've seen the movie then you know it has some pretty dark moments scattered throughout its rather silly story and that's actually the highlight of the featurette. Massari does a great job at talking about the score used in the film and the specific tone that the director wanted to make sure he got. Even though there were silly things on the screen the directors wanted the score to be a bit dark and that's exactly what was delivered. Fans of the film or the score will certainly get some great bits of information here and especially the stuff dealing with the tone of the score and how certain scenes were played out.
