Park Chan-wook has told his opaque story in a stylish manner.
It has also been convoluted, slow and stilted in delivery at times.
Kurtz has arranged a ruse so Khalil can trust Charlie. He has faked an explosion in a grim 1970s London college building. The target being visiting Israeli lecturer Professor Minkel. British spymaster Picton is in on the ruse but is not happy about it and let Kurtz knows it.
Kurtz has his eyes on the prize when he learns that Khalil really likes Charlie. He now thinks a permanent mole in the Palestinian camp could lead to so much more. It was to be a short lived dream for him.
As with a lot of these dramas dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I cannot help feeling that the finale was a lot more one sided. Picton was the only character who was willing to stick it to Kurtz.
It was a messy even sluggish final episode. Charlie and Kurtz realise after all this, nothing has really changed.
