No More Delta
nogodnomasters4 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The British military is re-animated dead soldiers to make them into an army. Diane Keely (Eleri Jones) discovers that the body of her deceased military husband has gone missing. She gets an anonymous phone call about where to find clues, finding herself in the middle of a battlefield of dead fighting the dead, no signal, except for the world's greatest facial recognition app.

There are not many characters or locations in this low budget film shot mostly in the dark. I am not sure why there was a red light inside a respirator or why they were even dressed that way.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

omg what is this garbage...
paul-873064 September 2021
I'm writing this as I'm watching the movie and even the 4 beers I had prior aren't making it any easier to sit through this. 20 minutes into this and I have to go get yet another beer.

I noticed a couple of 9/10 reviews, they're friends and family of the production crew. Ignore those reviews.

If you're home alone on a rainy and stormy night, unable to decide what you should do, I'd recommend you either do your taxes, read the bible in it's entirety, attempt some DIY dental work in front of a mirror, or try swatting yourself. But whatever you do, don't watch this movie, and if you must then don't do it sober!

The 2nd worst film ever!
amspect113 January 2019
I wish someone had plucked my eyes out before I'd seen this! This is a shocking waste of time and money; another bottom feeder I sat through. I would gladly say this is the worst film ever but, the previous offering from this lot, "Silverhide" was even worse. If for a moment you could imagine Universal soldier filmed by a Donkey in a field mounting another Donkey at night then that would be close to the mark. There is not one single, original concept in this whole attrocity they call a film and it shows. The visualusation was clearly produced by a sock puppet inside another sock puppet. And re-enforce this point, some of the dialogue has been recorded through a two way radio. It is totally unintelligible so you are unable to follow any lingering doubt of a plot. What you hear is some rambling monologue of white noise. I also have no idea what was going on with the score, some of the audio effects were clearly composed by pre-schoolers. At least that gave me a bit of a laugh. The only people I do feel sorry for in all this are the actors, who were clearly given no direction whatsoever (This Director hasn't a clue). You can't even feel for the characters as they have no redeemable qualities and are portrayed as dead pan, featureless entities. If you want to waste money on this abomination then good luck to you. That's 84 minutes of my life I won't get back; you've been warned! I give this a rating of 0.

A real dud
Leofwine_draca21 January 2023
Incredible to see this micro budget indie getting anything like positive ratings. It's a film that mainly follows a young woman around. She plays a widow investigating the death of her soldier husband, and the fact that he seems to have returned to life again - or has he? The title is a dead giveaway, but if you're looking for an action/horror hybrid then you're going to be sorely disappointed by this one. It's a lamebrained affair which plods along, wasting mindless dialogue in a bid to fill up the screen, while the 'zombie' sequences are just guys in Halloween masks. Add in a few shouty moments and you have one dud of a movie.

Great low budget film
jwood-3180514 January 2019
This film follows a widow who is looking for answers after her husband was reported dead, but his body was never recovered. She is led, through an unexplained source, to a base where a military operation is conducting something very sinister, which unravels as the film continues.

I really enjoyed this film - great plot, acting and direction, with a few special effects thrown in (which are not always easy to achieve on a low-budget set). From the start, the storyline had me hooked and I was keen to see what was coming next. Also sympathised with the characters, which shows great writing and direction, as well as fab acting from the cast.

Worth Every Minute

I took the train from Liverpool to Southend to watch this film and I must say that it was worth it. A great example to stress the fact that one does not need lot's of money to create a great film. Congratulation to the director and crew.

Interesting role-reversal and great FX
tobymwilson-4445916 January 2019
There's a lot to say about the spirit of this film. The beauty of low-budget horror is that the passion and enthusiasm of the cast, crew and director really shine through. This is exactly what we have with Sniper Corpse. We're taken on a journey with the lead character (played wonderfully by Eleri Jones) who is a widow in search of her husband; a military man, killed in action, whose body has mysteriously disappeared.

As the story progresses, we're transported into a world of conspiracy, secrets and dark forests packed with demonic creatures. Throughout, we have some great old-school blood splatters and head explosions which are sure to make all low-budget horror fans wince and smile at the same time!

The craftsmanship behind the creatures, sets and visual FX are evident throughout the film. Presumably drawing inspiration from from the horror pioneers of the 1980s, the director combines practical FX and costume with a moderate use of CGI to push the boundaries of what's possible on a budget. It's also great to see an innovative use of lighting to create seamless transitions between stages and locations.

In terms of story, I won't say too much here, but what we have is a refreshing re-imagination of the good old-fashioned zombie; a creature that's been with us for decades in film. While there would be nothing wrong with heading down the usual path of virus break-out and undead flesh-eating monsters, the director has chosen to position the creatures differently and in a context that I've not yet seen. What does this look like exactly? You'll have to watch and find out!

Overall, it's great to see this kind of film emerge from the underground. We're so used to big-budget casts and FX that it's sometimes easy to take them for granted. Sniper Corpse is a reminder that with passion, an interesting story and some guts (both literally and metaphorically) it's entirely possible to create something that will inspire other filmmakers and audiences even without all the glitz and glamour of hollywood.

An ambitious Indie Horror with big ideas
moviemanspam14 January 2019
Caught this at Horror on Sea film feat following Jason Impey's fantastic Vipco Doc.

The film was extremely ambitious, telling a story of reanimated soldiers used by the government for their own nefarious purposes.

Despite the film slow budget, its a little rough around the edges perhaps, as most indie films are, the spirit and passion that went into is clear on screen and we found it be very enjoyable.

Maybe not for everyone, but if you are a fan of indie horror its certainly worth checking out.

Fab little film with a great leading lady
anna-mccarthy14 January 2019
A woman loses her husband in the war, but his body is never recovered. She finds out that other soldiers bodies have also disappeared and she sets off on the trail to find the answers. What she discovers is more sinister than she could have expected.

I caught this film at Horror on Sea Film Festival in Southend. A really original concept and absolutely superb acting by the leading lady, who kept the audience interested. I would really recommend this one if you enjoy independent British horror.

Quite enjoyable Action/Horror hybrid
kannibalcorpsegrinder27 July 2021
Trying to find her missing soldier husband, a woman heads to a remote section of the woods to check on reports that her husband is involved in a secret military project reviving dead soldiers into stoppable, unkillable weapons for the military and tries to stop their experiments from continuing.

This was quite a fun and enjoyable Action/Horror hybrid. Among the more enjoyable elements here is the engaging storyline that generates a lot of fun positives. The whole concept of utilizing the bodies of dead soldiers into a zombie-like being capable of being used in various military black-ops movements is a fine touch, much like the whole thing about enabling the creatures to remember and focus on aspects of their former lives. That this is all discovered through a generally intriguing mystery in the first half about the search for the missing soldiers and the legalities of what's going on is all quite fun and intriguing which is all the better for the film which keeps it going during its build-up. On top of this fun story, it manages to feature quite a lot of action. The opening sequence that brings about their impressive performances by taking out the drug dealers with their training and firepower is a nice introduction managing to feature the action of the shootouts while still being atmospheric and chilling. Her interruption of the war games practice in the woods offers up more fun with the eeriness of the situation and confronting the reanimated soldier which is a nice series of shootouts to stay safe while also furthering the plotline nicely. The finale, featuring several more fun gun-battles as they attempt to bring down the experiment by taking out the main villains at the compound and turning to the other zombie-like soldiers coming to stop them which provides some quite fun gore in the kills. These manage to hold the film up overall while this one did have a couple of flaws on display. The main issue here is the seemingly nonsensical means by which they uncover how far gone they've become. The seemingly random nature of her simply showing the zombie soldier holding a gun to her face a picture that she says is him and for him to ignore orders from the military to follow her along makes no sense. The way it happens with no build-up, reasoning, or motivation at the time to do so and to then react in such a lackadaisical manner to the information is all too unbelievable to be realistic. The other factor to lower this one here is the few indications of the low-budget on display, which isn't detrimental but becomes obvious here with the masks worn by the zombies to the CGI used to denote the muzzle-flashes for the shooting funs which adds some cheesiness to the film that doesn't need to be there. Otherwise, this one doesn't have much else really wrong here.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.
