While it became a big memorable moment, on Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark scene was only added because of a problem during filming. Sometimes in movies, the most memorable scenes were not even part of the original script. It may seem like Hollywood film sets are all smooth sailing, but unexpected things sometimes happen and it’s best to just roll with it. This article contains spoilers for the first three episodes of Daisy Jones & The Six. Details about the real life band they were inspired by may lightly spoil future events in the show.
The Prime Video series Daisy Jones & the Six is an adaptation of the 2017 book by author Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel tells the story of a fictional 1970s California rock group who break through when a charismatic songwriting female lead vocalist grabs the mic. The identity of the group’s real-life counterpart is very thinly veiled. The tagline of the series proclaims “Their music made them famous. Their breakup made them legends.” They can’t be talking about the Beatles, who were legends before they split. Fleetwood Mac, however, sustained multiple breakups before the ensemble even thought about calling it quits.

Unforgotten is back! That's reason enough for celebration but even more so is the fact that Di Sunny Khan himself — aka Sanjeev Bhaskar – is on the show to talk all about it. And that's not all as Sam Claflin and Camilla Morrone also drop in to chat Prime Video's Daisy Jones & The Six. Elsewhere, the team feast their eyes upon Catalonian murder mystery The Diplomat over on Alibi and nouveau Western Django on Sky Atlantic, plus mull over all the various TV tropes that give them the 'icks'.

Although the big winners at the 2023 Directors Guild of America Awards were Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Aka Daniels), who took home the Theatrical Feature Film award for their imaginative sophomore effort “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the name on all the lips of just about every director that hit the stage at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday was Steven Spielberg.
His most personal film yet, “The Fabelmans,” had a long run as the frontrunner for the Best Picture Oscar, after it won the People’s Choice Award at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, and earned Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director. Still, coming out of more critics awards, A24’s multiversal dramedy directed by the Daniels has gotten a second wind nearly one year after the Michelle Yeoh vehicle premiered at SXSW. The pair is now the third director duo to ever win the award,...

Actor Michael Douglas added to his cinematic legacy by starring in the 1992 mega-hit Basic Instinct. But Douglas didn’t do the role simply because he enjoyed the script.
Rather, he felt Basic Instinct was the ideal film to do at a time when he felt people were becoming too conservative.
Michael Douglas’ interest in gender wars once played a part in his film roles Michael Douglas | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
The role Douglas played in Basic Instinct was somewhat familiar territory for the actor. Douglas saw himself starring in films where women took control and power away from men in various ways. Apart from Basic Instinct, he’d also done Fatal Attraction and Disclosure, which sometimes put Douglas at the mercy of his female co-stars.
This wasn’t entirely coincidental on Douglas’ part. In a 1994 interview with The Morning Call, Douglas was intrigued by the shifting gender roles in real-life and the film industry.

When Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams dropped the nominations for the 95th Oscars on Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had for the first time in awhile the most wide open and competitive race in years.
There is something for everyone here. There are two billion-dollar-grossing films in the Best Picture mix in Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water. Both are sequels. This might well help the Oscarcast that have been in steady decline over the past pandemic-plagued years.
Also helping is the chance to see Rihanna and Lady Gaga perform their nominated tunes for Wakanda Forever and Top Gun: Maverick, respectively. They will compete against perennial nominee Diane Warren, who is up for the award yet again for the film Tell It Like A Woman. There is also the rousing theme from Rrr, and the prospect of Talking Heads leader David Byrne for Everything Everywhere All at Once.
