The last but one episode delivers, and then some.
Sleepin_Dragon10 July 2019
An episode that focuses on the main reason for the drama's being. So often the penultimate part is the standout in a series, and thus far, this has been the best one. We finally seem to have all the parts of the jigsaw, and get given a huge twist at the end.

Kate Beckinsale is terrific, she has been from the start, she delivers some real emotion as Georgia discovers what's going on in her life.

It does jump about a little, so stay off the wine when you're watching it.

Excellent. 9/10

Where There's a Will, There's a Way!
lavatch9 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In the picturesque setting of the Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda, there will be a reunion that is the highlight of this penultimate episode of "The Widow."

At long last, Georgia will be reunited with her husband Will. Battling through tremendous adversity, Georgia finds her way into Will's arms. In a much nicer home than Georgia ever experienced while living with the unemployed Will, she finally meets him in the immaculately maintained little red house with white pillars in Ruhengeri in Rwanda. It turns out that Will even has his personal security team.

The episode is primarily a set of revelations by Will, as flashback sequences reenact Will's story. Will begins by saying, "Georgie, there's a lot you need to know," which may be the biggest understatement of the eight-part series.

Will's first admission is that he was up to his neck in the greed that characterizes so many of the Europeans who were exploiting the Congo for the precious coltan resources. This is the film's conceit that is drawn from Conrad's novel "Heart of Darkness." Will learned about Judith's double dealings from Pieter Bello, and he begins in earnest to blackmail Judith.

Peiter Bello's character takes on a new dimension when it becomes clear that he befriended Will, warning him about the sabotage of Sankura Flight 19. It was the devious Judith who had knowingly maneuvered Will to purchase a ticket for that flight, knowing in advance from Pieter Bello that it would crash. The purpose of the bomb plot was only to kill the powerful political rival and friend of the people, Dikembe.

At the last moment, Will decided not to board the flight and has for since been tormented by the guilt of those who were killed in the crash. But the guilt did not stop him from starting a new relationship with his current live-in lover Gloria. This is the biggest surprise that Will saves for the finale, and it includes the little three-month-old daughter Fimi, who is now the same age as Violet at the time of her tragic death. In other words, Will has been a crook, a coward, and a philanderer.

But the filmmakers are not finished with surprises. In the closing scene, Adiga has made her way back to the house after running away. Hoping to be reunited with Georgia, Adiga knocks on the door, only to be surprised by the person who opens it. The surprise is even greater for the audience to dicover that the person residing in the house is none other than the character who truly got her hands dirty, Judith! She lives!

I am so angry

Warning: Spoilers
This episode made me so mad at Will. How could he? All that Georgia went through for him and he just moves on, forgets her and impregnates the next best thing. F U Will
