Tense, thrilling, gripping drama.

It's great that we're finally getting more out of Stephen Graham, John Corbett is finally becoming a much more interesting and intriguing character.

It's a slick production, as always Line of Duty never fails to intrigue, surprise, and give us faces from the past.

The big question on everyone's mind right now, who is H? Is this the year that Hastings finally goes bad?

Gripped. 9/10

Warning: Spoilers
'Eastfield Depot? What's he got backing him up? A Panzer Division?' - the delivery was spot on and I'm still giggling three weeks later.

Ace work by AC-12.

The problem is that when you have put up a high level for series then you have to raise the bar so even being as good as previous attempts aren't as good in the eye if the viewers.

This series is now finding its previous heights but the actors do seen to be tired. They aren't giving anything new.

Series 4 would have been screened before this was filmed so maybe the new found fans has gone to their heads.

Still a lot better than other long-running police shows and well worth continue watching but the extra make up and well known faces don't hide some sort of missing ingredient.

I guess it might help if I wasn't watching a series every 2 days while the actors have aged 2 years in that time.

Maintains the tension

Corbett carries out a raid in hope that "H" will expose their identity.

This is a tense episode with compelling character moments.

There is little of the plot I can reveal without spoiling but the interest regarding Corbett and his situation develops and the tension grows. Although certain information has been revealed about the character, there are still some unknowns that keep the intrigue high. Stephen Graham is on top form.

The character Hastings is also used very well by the writer to develop more intrigue and Adrian Dunbar is excellent as always.

Visually it is very impressive, as there are some good heist related scenes that have pretty suspenseful moments.

Episode 5.3

Warning: Spoilers
Jed Mercurio brings another H into play.

Hargreaves, who has appeared in previous series of Line of Duty. He appears in a raid with a balaclava and is then shot by Corbett.

Corbett still thinks he is on the side of right and after bent coppers. He is increasingly unstable and has not realised that he crossed the line ages ago.

At least Steve Arnott comes clean about his meetings with Corbett. As Hastings tells Arnott, he has broken every rule in the book.

Mercurio manages to increase the tension as the third episode progresses. It is not unnoticed by Corbett that Arnott's boss also has a name beginning with H. The element of the story that series 5 is having great fun with as to the actual motivations of Hastings.

Feels like a repeat. Slow. Boring.

I gave it three episodes, but this just keeps feeling tedious.

Nope. I'm out.

Should I Laugh!

'Crime, Drama, Mystery Thriller' you say. Comedy should be added to that, it made me laugh. Overly dramatic and poorly acted and directed.
