Martin Is a Truly Heroic Figure
Hitchcoc30 April 2018
Martin has been accused of misconduct because of his reaction to blood. The woman whose life he saved has brought him before a panel. One of the members is a guy who doesn't like him. No one really likes Martin, but he is incredibly competent and dedicated to saving lives. He is nasty to people and impatient. Of course, he is not going to buckle under to his accusers because he sees nothing wrong with the treatment of the woman. It was her own action that led to her head injury. The blood thing is a different matter and they may have a bit of a point. Still, the service he performs in his unique way is incredible for a little seaside community. Meanwhile, Louisa continues her studies. It will be interesting to see where things go in the Ninth and final season, airing sometime this year.

Doc is going to need all the help he can get....just not from these folks!

This is the final episode of season 8 of "Doc Martin" and as you'd suspect, it's one where a lot of stuff happens. In this one, the important plot is whether or not the doctor will end up losing his license or not. The problem is that lots of folks want to help him and they all are about as helpful as a case of herpes. One is a friend who has had a serious drinking problem...and you can guess when he starts drinking again. Another is good old Constable Penhale...the village idiot. Can the doctor, in spite of these folks, extricate himself?

The other plot in this one concerns an American (Sigourney Weaver) who wants to talk to the doctor about whether or not she has a hereditary illness. Unfortunately, the crazed chemist, Mrs. Tishell, is STILL obsessed with Doc Martin and she thinks the lady is out to have an affair with the man...and she seems willing to do nearly anything to stop her.

Overall, a satisfying conclusion to the 8th season. Well written and interesting.

Doc hasn't cleared the woods.....yet.

Warning: Spoilers
An excellent episode. The doc still has some hurtles to clear, but due to quick thinking and unexpected opportunities, he has managed to at least continue practicing in Port Wen.

The American played by Sigourney Weaver has a run in with Mrs. Tishell and learns she doesn't have the disease she thought she had.

PC Penhale is still the inept, clueless dolt. He has a bust made of himself when he learns he is the longest serving PC in the village.

Kudos for the writing and direction!
