Into the Weeds

I don't agree with the shows view on drug taking, but what cannot be denied is that this is a very funny episode, with Matt LeBlanc displaying what a star he is in the sitcom genre.

Very funny stuff.

Saved By The Second Half

Warning: Spoilers
As someone with common sense and who adheres to basic logic, I found the first half of this episode borderline insufferable. It wasn't until the twist with Joe's candy that this episode hit a home-run. And now, I understand the need for Adam's 1980s-era mentality in the first half.

I was really hoping the writers would change gears, and thankfully they did.

Alcohol is FAR worse than marijuana. And that's proven fact, not merely an "opinion". If you oppose the Devil's Lettuce but are okay with the Devil's Juice, please return to my opening sentence.

This episode gets preachy

I love this series, but a couple of times through it, the creators decides to show of their liberal attitudes to marijuna/weeds. A political move, and as everyone knows, never a good idea to get preachy if you would like a narrative flow.

This episode has Mr. Burns display really old and outdated prejudice towards weeds (cabbage of the devil), then unknowingly getting a high and enjoying it, then take a liberal approach. Couldn't have made a clearer point if he stood on the pulpit, and the episode suffers from it.

If you're loving the fact that a lot of young people now use drugs because of legalizing, you will love this episode. Unless you see what the preaching does to the script.

If you think marijuana should stay off limits, this (and one more episode, where a nurse wrongfully «medicates» Joe with marijuana on purposes) is a annoying hair in an otherwise enjoyable soup.
