- Fighting in Greenland means a change of destination and new dangers for Ubbe and company. A death in Kiev brings changes. Gunnhild makes her choice. Ivar gets a surprise and makes a decision.
- In Greenland, the starving settlers fight the haywire Kjetill and his men to take part of the whale, but in the end they flee to a boat without water or supplies and sail away from Kjetill. In Kiev, Price Dir, Ivar, Igor and Hvitserk ride to overthrown Prince Oleg, but surprisingly they are welcomed by Oleg's army and people. Igor suspects it is a trap. King Harald is ready to get married with Ingrid and Gunnhild arrives dressing a white dress and wishes the best to the couple, but explains that she prefers to meet Bjorn at the Valhalla.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Prince Dir pays allies as promised, and his forces march on Kyiv, where the garrison surrenders power to Igor and him peacefully to him. Obsessed with the life of Christ, 'Messiah' Oleg is losing his grip on reality, appearing on a balcony to pleads for a new start as loving kin. Encouraged by Ivar's example, Igor shoots Oleg to death with an arrow. During the celebrations, Katia tells Ivar that she carries his child, but won't wed him. Ivar states he has other ambitions too and prepares to leave Kyiv, despite a lea to stay from prince Igor, whom he tells it's time for each stand on his own legs to be king. Ivar leaves with Hvitserk, who maintains that Ivar has changed. In Kattegat, Ingrid reveals to Erik that she was sold into slavery by him. Harald later marries Ingrid, but instead of joining them, Gunnhild drowns herself by swimming into sea to join Bjorn in Valhalla. In Greenland, tensions reach a fever pitch as self-declared king Kjetill refuses to share the beached-up whale with the starving fellow settlers. Othere drags Ubbe out of the fight which breaks out over the whale, where Ubbe is killed Frodi in self-defense when he tries to break it up. They flee to their ship with Torvi and the more levelheaded settlers, against all odds without proper supplies.—KGF Vissers
