- Bjorn faces a difficult decision. Ubbe and Torvi leave Kattegat, in search of new lands and perhaps old friends. Oleg's plans for the invasion of Scandinavia are taking shape, and King Harald is baffled by the origin of a mysterious raiding party.
- Bjorn hears Hvitserk confess the 'murder' of Lagertha, which he later calls his divine fate to Ubbe, already chained to be executed. However he's ax-cut from the pyre by Ubbe as Bjorn decides a worse fate then death is banishment into the murderous winter. The people of Kattegat decline Bjorn's offer to abdicate to avert a likely attack from king Harald, who indeed plots to seize control of all his 'realm' Norway. Catching Bjorn in bed with his lover, his spouse proposes to render the threesome official by second marriage. prince Oleg of Novgorod tells Ivar his info may be outdated, so he dispatched scouts to prepare the invasion of Scandinavia, then alienates ward prince Igor to tears by destroying his 'offensive' king puppet, another opportunity for consoling Ivar to bond ever closer. The intimidating Rus part brutally raids a Norse village, causing alarming reports to king Harald, but their identity remains unknown. To Kjetill Flatnose 's delight, Ubbe actually leads a small fleet to Iceland, which finds the elated survivors but no trace of Floki.—KGF Vissers
