Fantastic parody

Warning: Spoilers
So after seeing some people complain about this I had to write my first review.

If you take this video seriously, as a music video or a bonus feature, it seems pretty horrible. It's tacky and not well acted, with cheesy visuals.

However, it was not intended for that. It is a complete parody of the disco videos of the early 80s. Complete with synth music, odd colors, bad costumes, David Hasselhoff, and crappy porn star costumes. When you look at is as a parody it is really funny, and fits right in line with the GotG sense of humor. Even the lyrics invoke parody. But it's a fun way to see the main stars of the movie having some fun and poking fun at a genre and era that has a lot of emphasis in Peter Quill's life, as it was that era when he left Earth. The music he listens to, and the shows he watches are all 80's themed.

So while as a stand-alone it is a bit on the ridiculous side, if you understand James Gunn's sense of humor and understand that it is all about making fun of itself, then you will appreciate it more and find the humor in it. Plus a Stan Lee sighting is always fun!

A campy, silly goofy ode to everything you'd expect from James Gunn and his love for the ridiculous 70s-80s music video genre. Even better is that he got (mostly) the entire cast of Guardians (Saldana, Pratt, Bautista, the list goes on) to perform in this grainy music video so that just this even better. And oh, just in case you didn't know, it stars David Hasselhoff himself, I mean who else. And he sings THEE song from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack and lemme jus say, it's hilarious. It's all around pretty funny as a little funny side thing for Guardians/MCU fans to check out. I'd recommend it.

I absolutely love the Guardians of the Galaxy series. No matter who you are there's something for you to enjoy. To go along with Vol. 2, Marvel put together a music video parody of the 70's disco style, featuring actors from the movie dressed up in ridiculous outfits from the era.

In the video, The actors who played the roles of Mantis, Kraglin, Yondu, Drax, Nebula, Gamora, and Starlord all appear in some form throughout the video, as well as David Hasselhoff (As Zardu Hasselfrau) and the movie's director, James Gunn. They all dance around and sing the Guardians theme song in it's Disco form.

Now back in the 70's, When Star wars first came out, Disco was huge. So to bring the 2 together, a group called Meco composed a star wars disco theme record, and it was very, very popular. This video is meant to be a parody of said theme. But it's a very enjoyable parody.

3rd time lucky

This summer holiday, I'm on my third run through all the Marvel films and promised I'd watch all the credits of every film without skipping.

Then I found the incredible ending credits to GotG2 and found this gem.

When I searched for the lyrics I found it was a purpose made disco "hit" from the xx70s... starring f'ken Zardu Hasselfrau and the lyrics Procyon Lotor....

Oh Lordy!!!

And Karen Gillan is PURRRFECT as a saucy 70's disco queen, her gaze into the camera is stunning!!!

Also, perfect timing with the recent revival of electronica from the late 70s to early 90s!!!

Simply horrible

Warning: Spoilers
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Inferno" is a 3.5-minute music video spoof from 2017 and this was done in a way where it would look like the most colorful, over-the-top music video from the 1980s. I am not sure to which extent James Gunn worked on this one, but for his own sake I hope not too much. The man who seemed to have directed these approximately 200 seconds, David Yarovesky, I have never heard of him and that may be a good thing. David Hasselhoff's cult status was used on several occasions in the second GotG film and this little video we have here focuses on him entirely if we ignore Chris Pratt at the very end. However, I believe this one here is as bad as it gets for a DVD/BluRay add-on. It's not funny, it's not catchy, it's not creative, it's not smart, it has basically zero connection to the film and not even the biggest Hasselhoff fans can enjoy it because the thing is halfway over already when he appears for the very first time and then after just a few seconds, he is pretty much gone again until it's over. So I really cannot think of any target group at all who likes this. It's a failure, a huge mess and I have no idea what they were thinking. Major thumbs-down. Don't watch.
