Powerful!

While the people in this film are all French Muslims, there is a certain universality that make it well worth seeing by anyone.

The story is set on the streets of some French town. Saoud is essentially the king of his neighborhood. Everyone seems to love and respect him and he is the local definition of cool. But when he's accused of having stolen from his mosque, he goes from king to most hated. What really happened?

I love stories like this one that feature interesting dilemmas and situations. The film is quite clever...and the twist at the end makes it all the more poignant. Well worth your time.

Sacrilege is Worth the Watch, truly beautiful

Warning: Spoilers
This short film is set on the streets of French town. The story revolves around the main protagonist Saoud who is the leader of his neighbourhood. Kids are inspired by him, people follow him, he goes to mosque everyday, he has the key to open the mosque. But one day when some money is stolen from the mosque and he is accused of it...his life goes upside down. What happens next?

This film is beautifully written and job done by the main protagonist makes it worth a watch. It's shot well and it tells a lot about how people's opinion about you can be shifted in an instance. How much time it takes for you to gain respect and how easily it is lost by just some rumors. This film is well worth your time

worth watching

This film is a simple meditation on what is sacred. It grapples with the complications of poverty, desire, truth, and religion. It touches on what is forbidden & the shame of crossing lines within an individuals own ethics. It offers a window into the way a person can betray not only those around them but the deepest regions of themselves with one moment of indiscretion turning something tiny into a tidal wave. Worth watching.

A work of art

Sacrilège is an incredible short film! The script is very well written and the tension is omnipresent. A beautiful overview of the French suburbs, here it is in Saint Etienne. Finally, Mehdi Djaadi's acting is absolutely remarkable! A short film to see absolutely!

The most sacred sacrifice!

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes in life, you will betray your own ideas. This incredible short film teaches us that sacrifices do not always turn out well. A crude story about the personal relationships of today's life.

Great narrative and script

"Sacrilège" tells the story of the well-known young man of the neighborhood that sees his own reputation fall apart when some money disappears from the mosque. With a great script, a dynamic rhythm and a mise en scène that takes dramatic profit of the city stairs, the short is a reflection on honor, ethics, and power. Plus, the performances of the main actors manage to involve the audience and get close to the main character in just some few shots. Definitely worth seeing.
