Gretchen's Cult
Hitchcoc11 January 2024
This was a little short on fun. The FBI calls in Kimmy to talk Gretchen out a little house where she has kidnapped a group of incompetent young men. She took Kimmy's advice and started her own cult, but it's been a disaster. The men are so needy she has no time for herself. She has decided to blow the place up and go down in a blaze of glory. Titus has contracted Scurvy from lack of Vitamin C and Lillian tries to help him get well. Jacqueline, he husband in a body cast and uncommunicative, is manipulated by his family. It's a huge mess as there is petty jealousy galore and the family are a bunch rich knotheads.

Episode 305

Warning: Spoilers
The last episode was solid, but this was a nightmare. It resembled the worst of the Tina Fey world of comedy with random masturbation jokes and childish humor. The idea of a crazy cult, fake Keystone Cops, this was just a painfully unfunny half hour of TV. This show is not starting Season 3 off well.

more ideology than laughs unfortunately

Warning: Spoilers
With series 1 & 2 having enticed us all in with all things wonderful & Kimmy now the ideological part commences. Kimmy is now a full on feminist in this episode & it looks like that's going to intensify with the next episode. Love Erin Kemper's Kimmy but she's rapidly turning into just another envangelizing shrew.

Having said that there's a few mildly funny moments with the idea of Gretchen as a cult leader but they're seriously weighed down by the message-laden script. As for Titus & Lillian off trying to find a fruit to treat Titus' scurvy it just seems kind of forced
