Iceland has a much more generous climate than depicted in this series. Vikings named it Iceland to discourage any other raids to it, and Greenland, which has a much harsher climate, to make any raids there instead.
Herald mentions Scotland, however, Scotland didn't exist in the 9th century. At the time of the Viking invasion it was called Pictland.
