The poetry was written using an ekphrastic method by Shaindel Beers . From drawings done by children who had experienced war situations in their lives or had been reported as having such experiences in newspapers etc etc as experienced by Shaindel . I then researched people to read them via various means inc facebook , added music and video .

The writer / poet Shaindel Beers composed a number of poems in response to some children's drawings of their experiences in war situations in which they found themselves and published a book 'The Children's War and other Poems' . Technically known as Ekphrastic writing . In my wanderings around cyberspace via the net I discovered them and after some negotiations with Shaindel it was agreed that I could use them for a series of videos that I had planned using essentially a series of collage techniques. I mostly randomly enticed various internet 'friends' to read me one of the poems , send them to me and I then created the video using the methods described and composed the music and edited it all together creating the series of videos that are represented here .—Richard J O'Callaghan
