- A woman straddles a man who is shirtless. She is clothed in modest sleepwear, and the man remarks that it is natural that a husband and wife have sex.
- A group of Ronin are criticised and defended for being motivated by sex and women on more than one occasion, on one of those occasions a man's cloak is open for a fraction of a second and while obscured in darkness it is not clear whether his groin is visible or not.
Violence & Gore

- The opening battle scene is the most graphic in the film. Men are killed in a variety of ways accompanied by sprays of blood, decapitation, impalement and other creative means of death. Slow motion is used at times to focus on the brutality and puddles of dripping blood, or feet stepping in blood. All that said, it contain little to no gore.
- Numerous battle scenes with severed limbs and impalements with large amounts of blood
- Martial arts combat in the form of duels, some serious some for practice, these are predominantly light hearted and even a little cheesey
- There is discussion of violence towards women within the confines of marriage - a man is told to hold a knife to his wife's neck and tell her to obey. This is portrayed in a serious manner, and is momentarily tense.

- Some of the battle scenes are intense and could be disturbing to some viewers. One battle scene for example shows an overhead view of mounds of bodies accumulating in a ditch during the course of battle.

- A man contemplates waking his wife up with a knife to her throat to threaten her into submission. Although he doesn't end up doing so, this could be disturbing to some viewers
- The final battle between the hero and respectful villain ends with a man committing Seppuku in a manner that has him impale himself on a sword
