Flop...
joshuavibas3 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
So when I saw the trailer I was REALLY hopeful since it's been probs 9 years I think since there been sooo many good SRR films like the train station episode Or the Robinsons snake episode but this movie is not good so glitch the plot is amazing it's just bad execution A list actors but disappointed me. Next mukbang so first the cast is questionable with tiktok stars like ensyr etc. But it's just lame I guess I got bored with the plot...Rage was the longest meaning the plot took a bit for it to progress and I just really hate the effects...

But this is just my opinion and all opinions matter.

Fail
HonestFilmReviewph2 March 2024
I don't understand why a big production would bother making stuff that's been done before and isn't even realistic. The gory bits don't look gory enough - the blood and cuts just seem fake, and sometimes there's blood but no cuts, which doesn't make sense. The props look so very fake too, despite the effort put into creating visually stunning scenes. The acting is bad, and the things the actors do don't make sense either. I used to love watching "Shake, Rattle, and Roll," but now it seems like they're just trying too hard to be trendy and cool for the Gen Z crowd, sacrificing quality along the way. The actors aren't believable enough for everyone to connect with, and the stories feel like they've been recycled and lack originality. Even in the old "Shake, Rattle, and Roll," despite the absence of modern technology, the movies and script writing were excellent. However, this new film of "Shake, Rattle, and Roll Extreme" falls far short of today's standards, with bad script writing, acting, musical scoring, and lighting. And it's also disappointing that the title suggests it's extreme, but it falls short of that expectation, making it feel misleading. There's a notable lack of standout performances, while the rest could use more training, their performances marred by overacting.

EXTREME INDEED
imnotvoldemort4 March 2024
Uttermost disappointment. The writing, production design, and cinematography were such a mess. What a waste of talent for the outstanding actors and actresses. The stories on all these three segments were unoriginal and unappealing. There were scenes that didn't make sense. Props were seemingly poor. The script felt like a bunch of fillers and sounded unnatural. Even the choice for music could have been better. Nothing matches up. Truly, the whole movie was unnervingly cringe.

The franchise is well-loved by Filipinos yet it keeps on getting worse and worst. Thank God it was not qualified as an entry for the MMFF.

Extreme Disappointment
annjelika29 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I had a very high expectation because of the title but it didn't even reach the bare minimum. It's so bad that even movie making school projects are way better. It's bad in all aspects-the nonexistent plot, zero buildup, lack of direction, out of place gore, cringey props that are obviously fake, meaningless deaths. I feel sorry for all the actors for being part of this worst shake rattle and roll film. Nothing made sense. It looks like it was made just for the sake of making a "horror" movie. If I have to describe it in 1 word, it's "baduy". Please change the title and remove the word extreme because it's scamming people into thinking that the movie is good even if it's the exact opposite.

First story is a 0/10
tailsparadela2 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
A culmination of all the Scary Movie spoofs I've seen before. I see the symbolism and for sure I see what message they are trying to relay. However the direction of this movie is just downright laughable. "The devil is repelled by God's forces." No fr that's what the plot of the first story of this anthology is. Nothing wrong with that except it's overplayed and too predictable (and too simple of a plot). From the devil taking their sweet time offing the main characters vs the side characters to the unnecessary additions to some of the character's personalities (or lack thereof), it was nothing short of ridiculous. But this was just the first story. But what makes the recent version of SRR ridiculous is that most of their stories lean more on western legends (i.e. Krampus, Body Snatchers/Skin Walkers), whereas it could've explored local legends more on modern settings or playing with common fears like turning off the lights or things under the bed or closing the eyes in the shower which i think is largely unexplored.

All that waiting for a digital release, only to get disappointed
jameskerbynavarez1 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Haven't watched this in the theatres considering that I was quite hesitant bc of the mixed reviews. Waited until today just to watch it on Netflix and oh boy- It was definitely something...

Glitch- First, What was that editing? Second, didn't expect it to be THAT corny. Third, it went from lost media (a topic that they left untouched as well as the religion aspect of the story) to encantadia real quick (my gosh how many times do they want Iza to revive Amihan).

Mukbang- It was a mixture of comedy-funny & genz-funny, which to me is not a good balance.(I mean I did laugh tho but I was cringing at some point) Cute concept tho should've still leaned on the horror aspect more because the concept could've been balanced and the ending could've been more eerie if the direction went with more horror than comedy. Still better than "Glitch" tho.

Rage- A lot of ppl underestimated this segment. (the only reason why I watched this movie in the first place) To me it should've been longer considering the pacing was fast. As I expected this was the ONLY good segment throughout the entire film and I'm INTRIGUED this was way too good to not have a stand-alone full length feature film in the future. (alongside "LRT" & "EMERGENCY") Sure, the opening was quite fast and straightforward but at the same time do we really have to establish and know each and every character's purpose and role? There's a lot of epic and action packed sequences that heightened up the tension every single time.(especially the warehouse scene and the chainsaw!!!) and of course it really showed that everyone did their part and gave justice to their roles in this segment, it really showed the efforts all from the cast & crew gave into this episode.

The only issue I had with it was probably Trina's plot armour. As expected we had a final girl that did deserve to survive, but is it really necessary to have her as the only survivor? Coy despite being young did in fact deserve to live like the btch fought so hard, Moze like what happened to him where did he go?? And of course Faya, like miss wake up someone stole ur baby. (She died lol)

Overall this movie was a surprise from start to end. Sure there were moments that will just cringe you to the core, from the acting, writing, and direction. Can't really say that these segments are original, but it definitely served something to the table... It ain't a full course meal tho.

High hopes for SRR17 bc Manilyn Reynes the OG SCREAM QUEEN will be BACK, and I hope she will outsold ur current faves.

a great movie
hthantko20 March 2024
The movie is a great bad movie if you know what i mean, there are many serious moments where you can't help but laugh at the decisions and directing there are abit of cringe in the movie, it seems like a marvel movie at some point where the mother is protecting her children. It is a very fun movie to watch with your family because you can just laugh at the jumpscares at the movie. The movie is also very goffy and funny. The masks here also reminds me of corey taylor from slipknot. The cgi can be horrendous but i guess it's fine and not that much of a big deal. The gore isn't that scary not as scaty as other shows.

Shapeshifters, Demons And Zombies!
Pairic12 March 2024
Shake Rattle & Roll Extreme: Filipino anthology horror film with Three segments. Nothing particularly original and the CGI is a bit shaky at times but it's worth watching. The three chapters are each 45 minutes long, a running time which is justified only in Rage. Glitch: if you're a little girl then be careful of borrowing your nanny's phone and coming across an old children's TV show hosted by Gary the Goat. He comes to life possessing a stuffed toy goat (now it's overstuffed) and mayhem ensues. Some very graphic violent scenes as a pet and people are slain. The demon looks like Krampus and there;s a reason for this which becomes clear as the story unfolds. Directed by Richard V. Somes, Written by Noreen Capili & Anton Santamaria. 5.5/10. Mukbang: a group of social influencers travel to a mansion to collaborate with two influencers who live there. A hard wokking chef influencer cooks up interesting cuts of meat, It soon becomes clear to us that the pork involved is actually long pig. The influencers are attacked by shapeshifters - Aswangs. Who then assume their identities. Some really dark humour and satire as well as plenty of gore. Directed by Jerrold Tarog, Written by Tarog & Rona Lean Sales. 6/10. Rage: Meteors fall, parasitic creatures emerge and turn humans into crazed Zomboids. They are violent and fast moving, charging in hordes and individually. Retaining most of their intelligence they're smarter than your average Zombie. Much hacking with hatchets, biting, shooting and running over Zomboids who seem to be still alive if "possessed". It becomes clear that the meteors have fallen in at least 40 countries, this is a world wide event. This segment has the potential to be expanded into a full length movie. Directed by Joey de Guzman, Written by Trisha Mae Delez. 8/10. On Netflix. Overall score 6.5/10.

A must-have horror experience like never before.
Lakerforever19 December 2023
It's been 9 years since the fifteenth installment came to an end until Regal made a surprising announcement for the franchise to comeback. All the scariness. All the bloodiness. And all the mayhem. Iza has finally came back since SRR 8 but one day there will be a new SRR film the might be as more scarier than previous installments. I also praise the 3 directors who worked so hard with all of the support and care and the cast was nearly remarkable in their chemistry. Sadly, it's a shame that not only the movie never qualify for the MMFF, it was the second film that never premiere on every December most likely it was premiered on November.

FLOP
fbechavez3 March 2024
I am a fan of shake rattle and roll since I was in elementary in the 1980s. Even though technology is not yet developed around that time, the series movies and script writing was excellent. But this new film of shake rattle and roll extreme is far way to be good in today's time with new technologies and new innovation in movie industry. Script writing is bad, actors are bad, musical scoring is not on point, lightings in some parts are bad. The only thing that good acting here is ms. Iza calzado, the rest can have more training. Lame actors, OVER ACTING that makes it bad and cringey. Bring back the old shake, rattle and roll.
