A so so episode of the most uneven season yet

Greetings from Lithuania.

While i don't think "Shelley Duvall", 6 th episode of "Ray Donovan" season 5 was was poor, its surely is moons away from greatness this show once produced. And "once" in this case wasn't that far away - i highly enjoyed all 4 previous seasons, but this one to be honest does drag and its not as involving as previous once. Sure acting is on highest notes here as usual, but its the story and storytelling of this season that doesn't compare to previous ones. Here we have an Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, which role in here to be honest i do not even really understand nor do i care about - this is because of kinda uninvolving writing. And while i do see the path this season is taking in Abbies direction, even those scenes started to drag - while this show never was about "action" in a first place, but any lack of it during this season doesn't add to its overall value.

Overall, with half of the season done already, unfortunately at the moment this is the most disappointing season yet. Being a fan of this show, i do hope (and believe) that they will make things more interesting pretty soon, but at the moment its pretty empty season so far.

Why are the writers giving so much screentime to Bridget?

They just made a recipe to how to not make this season work. What they did? They added- 1. More screentime for the most annoying character, Bridget. 2. They killed Abby. 3. They made the characters act out like they were someone else for 4 seasons prior. 4. They added unnecessary new lead Lili Simmons who was also annoying in Banshee. There's just something about her that's annoying, not her characters.

End this now. I'm this close to leaving the show mid-way. This close, believe me my fingers are too close.

This is it for me. I am finished watching this crap. Easy to see where this is going. Without checking I am sure there are new director and screenwriting staff involved. Season 5 started very poorly and it never stopped there. No more. Never again.

Full sopa opera

Probably the worst episode of a dismal season. It's painful to watch and not because of Abs's cancer but because of the endless series of -repetitive- flashbacks and the cloy sentimentality of each. We get it... Abs was very sick, tragedy all over, Ray behaved like a dick (unsurprisingly), but still, what about the dog walking with Natalie? Why do we have to watch it twice? And why was Natalie living next door to Ray?

And apologies to the actress playing Natalie, but she doesn't have A-list allure at any level. A snotty attitude, yes - star qualities, no.

Also the Avi deranged development makes no sense and Bridget and uncle Terry mournful in New York... what a drag. Really a soap, with the sick boyfriend and marital trouble...
