The Legend of Cabo Blanco (2016)
*** (out of 4)
Producer Lance Hool sits down for this fifteen-minute featurette that has him talking about his work on CABO BLANCO, the 1980 Charles Bronson movie. Hool spends a good portion of the film talking about the cast he originally wanted and how Paul Newman and Steve McQueen ended up not working out but this led to Bronson taking the lead role. From here he talks about director J. Lee Thompson and says something rather interesting about the type of performances he was able to get from the star. The troubled production is briefly touched upon and is the somewhat disastrous release of the film. If you're a fan of CABO BLANCO then you'll certainly enjoy hearing these stories so there's no doubt that you'll be left entertained. One wishes the alternate versions would have been discussed more.
