When Marie chides Einstein for his failure to learn French, she uses the word "forte." However, she pronounces it "for - TAY," as if the word ended in the letter "è" with the accent grave. Because of her fluency in French, she would have known the word did not end with an accent grave and would have pronounced the word "fort." It's only been recently that, because of common usage, or common "misusage," that the word's pronunciation of "for-TAY" has become acceptable.
