One things that connects the franchise is that each of the females leads in A Cinderella Story all came from or starred on Disney Channel and it's sister network ABC Family (FreeForm). Former Pop-Star Hillary Duff had her own show on the Disney Channel called Lizzie McGuire and she was the star of ABC Family's Beauty & the Briefcase. Pop Star Selena Gomez another starred on her own show The Wizards of Waverly Place which is where Lucy Hale another former Pop Star had made her debut until she moved to ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars. Sofia Carson a rising Disney singer/actress made her debut on the hit Descendants franchise until she moved to ABC Family's (FreeForm) spin-off of Lucy Hale's Pretty Little Liar called The Perfectionists.
In an interview with Young Hollywood, Sofia met with Hilary Duff and her son by chance at a yogurt shop. Carson was nervous and went up to Duff to inform her that she was honored to be doing the last film installment of the franchise she created. Duff was over excited and let Carson know how much of a fan she was of hers, and Hope's of working with her in the future on her return to Disney.
Much like the other Films, Carson did a music video for film's staple song "Full Throttle" In a lyric sing along video as a featurette for the film, the video was aired on Disney Channel, but Sofia has not released the video officially for it's promotion.
This movie was suppose to be the last A Cinderella Story from the franchise but they came up with one more for the last film which is called A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish.
The soundtrack album for the film is considered to be Sofia Carson's first studio album as she appears in most of the songs and re-recorded the majority of the songs sololy. The soundtrack is made for all digital download platforms and in stores as well as the film itself.
