The Boys has been collecting cast and crew members from Supernatural like they are Infinity Stones. It started off with showrunner, Eric Kripke, who was the mastermind behind both the series; which was followed by Jim Beaver and Jeffery Dean Morgan, who appeared in the trailer for the fourth season. Ever since Jensen Ackles showed up in the third season of the superhero satire, fans of the hit CW series have wondered when the other half of the Winchester brothers will arrive.

It would seem that they will not have to wait too long. Recently, Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, gave an interview where he commented on the matter. The actor revealed that he has been asked about it before. However, one core aspect of the Prime Video series has made him hesitant; the nudity.

Marvel Studios has a lineup of projects slated for release or development in the coming years. While progress on most of these projects is clear, one movie has been stuck in development limbo for quite some time, with only sporadic updates emerging. We’re referring to the War Machine movie, ‘Armor Wars.’
‘Armor Wars’ was initially envisioned as a film based on the comic storyline of the same name. It was intended to serve as a sequel to ‘Secret Invasion’ (released last year) and ‘Ironheart’ (whose release date is currently unknown). As far back as 2011, Don Cheadle confirmed the development of a War Machine film, with Joe Robert Cole brought on board to pen the script.
Nine years later, during Disney’s 2020 Investor Day, it was revealed that the ‘Armor Wars’ TV series is in the works for Disney+, with Don Cheadle reprising his role as James Rhodes. In 2021, Cheadle...

The nearly year-long span from discovering Janet Planet‘s existence to seeing a single frame was fraught with worry. What if the extraordinarily talented Annie Baker fumbled her transition into filmmaking? Nothing catastrophic, surely––no sane person’s faulting Michael Jordan for his minor-league stint––but to paraphrase Kent Jones on John Carpenter: America doesn’t have so many great directors to spare that it can afford Annie Baker failing.
From frame one it was clear no such thing would happen. Janet Planet‘s a case study in a genius trying a new medium––base understanding of its what and how and why, but lack of precedent or traditional method yielding something rather new. Ahead of the film’s June 21 limited release, A24 have released a first trailer, albeit one that sells a different movie: scored by the Roches’ “Hammond Song” and cut to emphasize some wittier dialogue, it...

Annette Bening’s first major TV series role has won the five-time Oscar nominee the Best Actress prize at this year’s Series Mania.
Bening was awarded in the past few minutes at the prestigious Lille event for her leading role in Peacock series Apples Never Fall, an adaptation of a novel by Big Little Lies scribe Liane Moriarty.
The coveted grand prize was given to French-Hungarian chess drama Rematch about the historic 1997 chess battle between Garry Kasparov and an Ibm computer. It beat off competition from the likes of Apples Never Fall, MGM+’s Hotel Cocaine and Leonard Cohen show So Long, Marianne.
Apples Never Fall stars Bening as Joy Delaney, a matriarch former tennis coach married to the irritable Stan (Neill), who suddenly goes missing, leaving her four children to piece together everything they thought they knew about their parents.

I’m just a soul trapped in this circuitry.” The voice singing those lyrics is raw and plaintive, dipping into blue notes. Let’s raise a toast to the inventor of karaoke, the late great Japanese engineer Shigeichi Negishi. He devised the first karaoke machine in 1967, the “Sparko Box.” This invention changed the soundtrack of our lives forever. Negishi’s death was announced this week, at the age of 100, which means a century of making the world a louder, more tone-deaf place. His legacy is that all of us who are terrible singers can live out our tawdriest pop-star dreams for a few minutes of karaoke glory. We owe him so much.

Rowan, Rook and Decard, the studio that brought tabletop RPG fans Eat the Reich, have announced a new campaign sourcebook for their dark fantasy RPG Heart: The City Beneath with Dagger in the Heart. Available now on Backerkit (which has already been fully funded), the campaign sees players caught in the wake of the Delving Machine: a device that “bores through rock, blood, bone, space, time and reality, towards the scintillating terror of a crimson eternity.”
For those not in the know, Heart: The City Beneath (which you can pick up here) is described as a game about “delving into a nightmare undercity that will give you everything you’ve ever dreamed of – or kill you in the process.” The story concerns The Heart, a tear in reality that lies under the city of Spire. Ronald Washington, one of the two defendants standing trial for allegedly killing Jam Master Jay, chuckled in court on Wednesday when his attorney, Susan Kellman, invoked Harry Potter in her closing arguments.
The moment came as she discussed the prosecution’s theory that Washington and the other defendant, Karl Jordan Jr., were waiting on a fire escape to enter the recording studio where the DJ, whose real name was Jason Mizell, was killed. She said it was impossible, since the two men would have been seen on surveillance video. Then she paused dramatically.

James “Rhodey” Rhodes is a central character in the MCU—having appeared in eight films to date. Peacock’s Apples Never Fall, MGM+’s Hotel Cocaine and Nrk’s buzzy drama about Leonard Cohen, So Long, Marianne will be in the International Competition race at Series Mania in March.
The shows will be up against BBC Three’s UK series Boarders, France 2 drama Dans L’Ombre (In the Shadows), Ard’s German series Herrhausen, the Banker and the Bomb, ABC Australia’s House of Gods, and Franco-Hungarian co-production Rematch, which is for Arte, Disney+ and HBO Europe.
The shows comprise an interesting cross-section of U.S. and European projects, with the Annette Bening-starring thriller Apples Never Fall among the highest profile. "That's what entertainment's supposed to do..." Strand Releasing has unveiled the official US trailer for the fascinating documentary film called Fantastic Machine, made by two Swedish filmmakers, out to watch on VOD in January. This premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and played at tons of fests all year long (it's the exact same trailer as the festival promo). The original full title is "And the King Said, What a Fantastic Machine", which is taken from the reaction of King Edvard VII of England about Georges Méliès' staged recreation of his coronation (in 1902), his one-liner resonating with a double meaning today: "What a fantastic machine the camera is." From the first camera to 45 billion cameras worldwide today, the visual sociologist filmmakers widen their lens to expose both humanity's unique obsession with the camera's image and the social consequences that lay ahead. I watched this at Sundance and it's a compelling,...

Who was it who said ‘never tell me the odds’? And was it uttered in some distant galaxy’s asteroid hail, or just the butt of a colonoscopy joke? Eigil Bryld must be feeling funny lately. After a career peppered with reality-based dramas (You Don’t Know Jack and The Report), thrillers (Deep Water) and romantic period pieces (Tulip Fever and Becoming Jane), the Danish cinematographer has lightened up with a trio of comedies out this year—The Machine, Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers and No Hard Feelings. Plenty of haunted, Halloween and holiday options will crop up on Netflix in the month of October. The harvest doesn’t seem too lean despite the almost five-month writers strike that viewers are sure to feel next year, but at least the WGA and AMPTP have reached a deal, and hopefully, SAG-AFTRA is not too far behind. Luckily, Halloween and fall have a classic canon of films and TV shows that stretches back decades, and some of those staple watches will be available through Netflix throughout the month.
Movies include “Casper,” “Scarface” and the first two “The Amazing Spider-Man” films. New arrivals worth the wait include Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” starring Zendaya and Timotheé Chalamet among other heavy hitters, “Fair Play” with Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich and David Yates’ “Pain Hustlers” starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans. Mike Flanagan’s “Fall of the House of Usher” is sure to...

There are a few standout new releases on Netflix in October, but it’s a rather quiet month on the world’s most popular streaming service otherwise!
Highlights this month include a brand-new series from Spook Master Mike Flanagan. The Fall of the House of Usher is a gothic tale loosely based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe, and tells the story of two extremely unpleasant siblings whose family dynasty ends up going to hell in a handbasket. Before you ask: yes, Rahul Kohli is in it. That’s all that a lot of people need to know here (we’re people).
Elsewhere, Netflix is dropping a few interesting-looking docuseries, including one on football legend David Beckham. It promises to be an “intimate portrait” of Beckham, and the filmmakers were apparently granted unprecedented access to the sportsman and his family while making it.

With the chillier fall months slowly creeping in, Netflix is more than ready for curl-up-and-binge-something season. This month, the streamer will debut some of its most highly anticipated projects of the fall season, including the latest Mike Flanagan horror series “The Fall of the House of Usher,” which will premiere just in time for your Halloween binge watching. Netflix will also bring several other horror films and series to its platform for at least the month, including “It Follows,” “Deliver Us from Evil,” and the new Spanish nun horror film “Sister Death.”
For the less horror-minded, in addition to dozens of Netflix Original films, series, comedy specials, family programs, and documentaries, such as the four-part documentary series “Beckham,” you’ll soon be able to stream a large collection of library additions that includes the recent blockbuster “Dune,” “Gladiator,” and more.

The 85-minute One-Percenter, the new film from Meatball Machine writer/director Yudai Yamaguchi, opens with an extended series of intercut interviews and behind-the-scenes segments that feel like a DVD extra, centering on the intensity and combat abilities of action star Takuma Toshiro (Tak Sakaguchi). Members of the Japanese Self Defense Force and professional Mma fighters say that Toshiro is an incredible fighter who is entirely capable of killing with his bare hands. Toshiro, knowing his abilities, complains that what passes for action cinema is closer to dancing than fighting; he bemoans the lack of “realism” in action, saying that anyone can say a believable “good morning” on film, but no one ever attacks each other with “real” intent to harm. He seeks to change that and...

Howard Stern signed on the air on Saturday night for an impromptu radio broadcast that doubled as a music listening party.
Stern is currently on a summer vacation from his SiriusXM radio show. However, while hosting a celebrity-filled get together on Saturday, the King of All Media made the unprecedented decision to go live. “I’m trying something new, I’m breaking into my own channel,” Stern explained. “I was sitting and playing music, and I thought I would go back to my roots and be a DJ. I have a bunch of people over.”
The hour-plus broadcast saw Stern’s various celebrity friends — including Drew Barrymore, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Bon Jovi, Brooke Shields, Jimmy Fallon, and Marry McCormack — each take a turn picking a song to play.
Barrymore got things started with Electric Light Orchestra’s “Don’t Bring Me Down.” Downey Jr. spun Phil Collins’ “Inside Out,...

Later this year, we’ll get to hear Bird Machine, a posthumous album from Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse. Before it’s out in full September 8th, a new single called “The Scull of Lucia” is available now, and it features guest vocals from Jason Lytle of slacker rockers Granddaddy.
Though Linkous was largely the main force behind Sparklehorse, Bird Machine was a group effort. Linkous was almost finished with his fifth album under the moniker before tragically taking his life in 2010; his brother Mark and sister-in-law Melissa, both of whom had been involved with Sparklehorse previously, pored over demo tapes and notes to bring the record to life.
“From the very first seconds of ‘The Scull of Lucia,’ I was transported to a different time,” the album’s producer Joel Hamilton said in a press release. “The recipe is unmistakably Sparklehorse: The pace, the sounds, the overall texture of the voice.

In the 1990s, there was an undeniable boom of incredibly successful sitcoms. The decade was flooded with sitcoms that would ultimately define that era of television. In just 10 years, viewers became glued to shows that have stood the test of time, like "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "Seinfeld," "Frasier," "Friends," and many more. Amongst the variety of sitcoms on TV, "Boy Meets World" was an instant hit, especially for younger audiences. The coming-of-age show, which first aired in 1993, followed the day-to-day lives of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), Cory's older brother Eric Matthews (Will Friedle), Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel), and Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) as they navigated life from adolescence to young adulthood.
"Boy Meets World" ended in 2000, but in 2014, a spinoff called "Girl Meets World" aired on Disney Channel and ran for three seasons until 2017. Many of the "Boy Meets World" cast members, including Savage, Fishel, Friedle, and Strong,...

Bert Kreischer is living proof that truth is stranger than fiction.
In the mid-’90s, Kreischer went on a Florida State class trip to Russia, and to make a long story short, the Russian mafia forced the 22-year-old college kid to rob a passenger train that included his classmates. The Florida native somehow made it out of Russia unscathed, and after enough time had passed, he began telling the story on radio shows and podcasts until it became the focus of his viral stand-up comedy special, The Machine, in 2016. A few years later, Kreischer sold a movie version of The Machine to Legendary Entertainment’s Cale Boyter, who boiled the indirect pitch down to “The Godfather Part II meets The Hangover.”
The film’s premise revolves around Bert and his father, Albert (Mark Hamill), getting kidnapped by a Russian gangster (Iva Babić) as a form of payback for Bert stealing...

There are quite a few comedians translating their real lives into streaming series or big-screen movies. While Pete Davidson has taken a surreal twist on his life in Bupkis and Bert Kreischer has gone full John Wick for The Machine, popular stand-up Sebastian Maniscalco has mined his hit stage show for a feature film comedy that blends the sense of humor of movies like Meet the Parents with an honest look at the importance of family and father-son relationships.
In About My Father, Sebastian Maniscalco plays a fictional version of himself while the legendary Robert De Niro portrays the real-life Salvo Maniscalco. Sebastian has reservations when Sebastian’s girlfriend Ellie (Leslie Bibb) suggests that they bring Salvo to her parent’s summer home at a country club. As the two families clash, the Maniscalcos learn what they mean to each other while trying to navigate the intensely foreign dynamic of Ellie’s parents and siblings.

There are two dials at Gorillaz HQ which determine 1) how many guests will be on an album, and 2) how elaborate its broader cartoon lore will be. 2018’s The Now Now, positioned as a solo album by Damon Albarn’s “2-D” alter ego, had minimal guests and only the slightest bit of extra-textual hijinks. On the other hand, 2020’s wildly overstuffed Song Machine project, in which every track was accompanied by at least one guest and a new cartoon detailing the band’s ongoing dystopian adventures, turned both dials to 11. Every track was a single,...

It was against this backdrop that TV writer Mark Jones came up with the most brilliantly bizarre entry of them all: Leprechaun. “Back in the 1980s, there was a lot of advertising for Lucky Charms with this little leprechaun character,” Jones tells Den of Geek magazine. “It suddenly occurred to me that no one had done a St. Patrick’s Day horror movie.
