Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Zombies appear partially decomposed. Regular zombies are covered in blood, have multiple scars on some have certain internal organs exposed. Zombie dogs have a hole in their torso, exposing ribcage and certain internal organs.
  • Shooting an enemy enemy causes blood splatter to appear and the enemy to flinch. Weapons have a random chance to decapitate human zombies depending on the weapon type with shotguns and revolvers having the highest one.
  • A man is shot in the chest. No blood is shown.
  • Enemies are capable of grabbing the player for several seconds to bite them and the player can use defensive items to release the grab quickly. Stabbing the enemy with a dagger causes blood to come out and dagger to stay lodged within the enemy's body. Using a taser electrocutes enemies. Putting a frag grenade into the enemy's mouth causes the monster to explode into bloody chunks. Putting a flash grenade into the enemy's mouth decapitates the monster.
  • Zombies lying on the ground can be decapitated violently by stomping their head.
  • Certain enemy types such as zombie spiders can be fully dismembered.
  • The player mostly fights mutated animals, plants and humans.
  • Human zombies have to be decapitated or burnt to prevent them from turning into a more powerful enemy type. Burning a zombie causes the corpse to become charred.

Profanity

  • Certain notes within the game world contain mild expletives such as "bastard", "damn" etc.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Wine bottles can be found around the mansion.
  • One of the playable characters, Chris Redfield, carries a zippo lighter with him throughout the game, implying he is a smoker.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game has a depressing and scary atmosphere.
  • The first encounter with a zombie has the zombie eating a dead policeman when he suddenly turns his head towards the player. Can be rather frightening and intense.
  • Certain scary events can be triggered by the player or happen randomly within the game world.
  • Multiple humans can be found dead or coccooned by spiders within the environment.
  • Killing a human zombie without burning it or decapitating it results in the zombie transforming into a "Crimson head" zombie after several minutes. Crimson heads shriek loudly, run fast and are harder to kill. Encounters with them might appear intense and scary.
  • The player fights zombified crows, dogs, plants, spiders and snakes within the course of the game. This might trigger certain phobias.
