To celebrate the upcoming broadcast of My Adventures With Superman's season 2 premiere, Adult Swim and Toonami have released a new clip from the first episode, which sees Superman face off against Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Atomic Skull, and some Task Force X foot soldiers.
In particular, the video shows the terrible schemes Waller is willing to enact in order to protect the planet from Superman and other possible Kryptonian invaders.
While Waller's actions are definitely inexcusable, they might ultimately prove to be necessary as the season 1 finale hints that Spoiler: [General Zod] will soon return in season 2 to attack the Earth.
Are you excited for season 2 of My Adventures with Superman? Let us know in the comment section below.
Season 2 will be the big test for the show, as it was initially greenlit with a two-season order. Although a second season was always planned, a third season is probably not in...

It is well known that in the entertainment industry, there are far more rejected ideas and concepts for movies and shows than ones that are eventually made. Disney is no stranger to this, as many of its early or canceled concepts have become well-known within the fandom. The trouble is that many of those concepts are locked away in a vault, never to be seen by the general public.
Now, in a series of massive online leaks, multiple pilots, sporty bibles, and show concepts give fans a look at what could have been for some of their favorite shows and what we never got to see. These leaks include not only Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon projects but also Disney Channel/Disney Xd shows.

35 years ago, Nintendo gifted gamers everywhere with the Game Boy. After helping rescue the struggling home console market with the Nes, Nintendo made the bold decision to try to pursue the dream of playing high-quality games on the go. Against considerable odds, they quickly showed that true handheld gaming was no longer just a neat idea or occasional distraction. The Game Boy would go on to revolutionize the handheld gaming scene in ways that are still being felt today.
For as incredible as the design of the Game Boy hardware was (at least relative to its time), the device obviously wouldn’t have made it far if it wasn’t for the quality of its exclusive games. You undoubtedly know some of their names, but the history of the Nintendo Game Boy is truly defined by a wide variety of titles that showcased all of the qualities that leave us...

Saban Films announced today the acquisition of worldwide rights to the upcoming comedy The 4:30 Movie, directed and written by Kevin Smith.
Set in the summer of 1986, The 4:30 Movie is a coming-of-age story about three sixteen-year-old friends who spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local multiplex. But when one of the guys also invites the girl of his dreams (Siena Agudong) to see the latest comedy, each of the teens will learn something serious about life and love before the credits roll.
Set in the mobile phoneless, social media-free era of the ’80s, Smith shot The 4:30 Movie at his Smodcastle Cinemas in New Jersey—the same movie theater he haunted every weekend as a teenager. Two years ago, Smith and his co-owners saved the century-old Atlantic Highlands bijou from demolition, renaming it after his podcast theater.

Nibbler the Nibblonian first appeared on "Futurama" in the episode "Love's Labours Lost in Space", wherein Leela (Katey Sagal) assumed he was a poor, lost animal that merely needed a home. She put an adorable red cape on him and outfitted him with a diaper. Nibbler had a voracious appetite and could consume many, many, many times his own body weight in pork products in a single day. Nibbler would then poop out perfectly round spheres of solidified dark matter that, quite conveniently, could serve as starship fuel.
It was later revealed that Nibbler was, in fact, Lord Nibbler, an impossibly ancient being -- born around 274 Bce -- who could speak in a clear, deep voice. He belonged to a species that possessed fleets of tiny, adorable warships and who were occasionally kidnapped and farmed for their fuel-pooping abilities. For years, whenever someone saw Nibbler speak, he could activate his...

At the start of Matt Groening's and David X. Cohen's 31st-century sci-fi sitcom "Futurama," the alcoholic robot Bender (John Dimaggio) sounded a little bit more like a drunken vagrant. He slurred his speech more and seemed less able to concentrate. As the show progressed, Bender became more self-assured, like the guy at the bar who — after his fourth shot of Jim Beam — is 100% confident he could thrash the bouncer. Bender became egotistical in addition to being a drunken criminal. On DVD commentary tracks, the makers of "Futurama" have said that Bender, in being a robot, allowed them more explicit depictions of violence and vice; a human character cannot drink a gallon of rotgut whiskey and smoke four cigars simultaneously, but a robot can. The Fox censors are weird.
Prior to "Futurama," Dimaggio only had a few credits to his name. His first gig was playing ancillary voices in...

I love cartoons. Specifically cartoon series from the 80’s and 90’s. Whenever someone asks me what my favorite childhood cartoon is, I always say there are two. The first is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the second is Darkwing Duck. I was the biggest fan of the masked mallard, and who wouldn’t be? He was brave, smart, egotistical, and accident-prone but would persevere against evil. He had a killer costume and cool equipment to fight bad guys. He had an awesome rogue’s gallery that was a bit of a joke but also surprisingly formidable. The cartoon was also not afraid to show its love for classic superhero comics at a time when the general public didn’t understand it. It even broke through the Iron Curtain at the height of the Cold War. But does this cartoon from the early 90’s still hold up? Is it a silly...

Raising Hope and The Big Bang Theory actress Kate Micucci says she’s on her way to recovery after undergoing surgery for lung cancer.
Micucci shared a video over the weekend in which, sitting in a gown inside her hospital room, she revealed that she was recovering following a procedure to remove the cancer. “I’m in the hospital, but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early,” she said. “It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life.

Ultraman is back.
The character, created by Eiji Tsuburaya in 1966 with the “Ultra Q” and “Ultraman” television series, is back in a brand-new animated feature called “Ultraman Rising.” It’s due out next year but you can watch the trailer above.
In “Ultraman Rising,” baseball superstar Ken Sato, the new Ultraman, “quickly finds more than he bargained for as he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe,” according to the official synopsis. The trailer shows him battling a huge monster and then effectively adopting the monster’s child, which puts him at odds with his persona as creature-slaying titan. There’s a wonderful moment in the trailer where Ken shrinks down to his human size but the baby still towers above him.
The voice cast for the animated feature includes Christpher Sean, Gedde Watanabe, Tamlyn Tomita, Keone Young and Julia Harriman. Shannon Tindle, creator of Netflix’s fantastic “Lost Ollie,...

Disney’s “Gargoyles” are coming back, TheWrap has learned.
The beloved animated series, which ran in syndication on weekday afternoons for three seasons from 1995 to 1997, is set to return, this time as a live-action series for Disney+ from James Wan’s Atomic Monster, writer Gary Dauberman (who wrote all three “Annabelle” movies) and Disney Branded Television. Dauberman is attached as writer, executive producer and showrunner on the new series.
“Gargoyles,” which centered on a band of monstrous warriors who, long ago, were encased in stone and cursed to stay that way unless they were lifted above the clouds, find themselves awoken in modern day Manhattan after a billionaire zealot placed them atop his latest towering skyscraper. (They remain stone during the day but become flesh-and-blood at night.) The Gargoyles then have to figure out what life in the contemporary world is like, while also attempting to rid New York City of some of its crime.

The 1980s was a golden era for TV animation. It was the decade of Thundercats, Inspector Gadget, Transformers, Ducktales, The Smurfs, He-Man and The Masters of the Universe, Care Bears, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Yet arguably, the best of them all was The Real Ghostbusters.
The show arrived at a time when studios were eager to translate box office gold into something palatable for younger audiences. It didn’t always quite go to plan, of course, as short-lived and ill-advised animated incarnations of everything from Rambo to The Karate Kid can attest.
But The Real Ghostbusters was different, running for 140 episodes across seven seasons.

Lance Reddick’s unexpected death in March 2023 halted a thriving acting career that consisted of many memorable performances, including several voice-over gigs on TV series like “Castlevania,” “Duck Tales” and “Rick and Morty.” In addition to half a dozen mid-production projects, his legacy could include a posthumous Emmy victory in honor of his vocal work on the Amazon Prime Video animated series “The Legend of Vox Machina.” After Chadwick Boseman, who won the 2022 Best Character Voice-Over prize for “What If…?” two years after his death, Reddick would be the second posthumous recipient of any voice acting Emmy.
Reddick joined the recurring cast of “The Legend of Vox Machina” in its second season, which concluded less than a month before he died. His character, Thordak, is the leader of a group of dragons known as the Chroma Conclave, whose destructive plans are encumbered by the heroic, interspecific members of Vox Machina.

The 1990s: the decade when teal squiggles and purple triangles reigned supreme. Or at least, that's what our collective memory has assigned to the period's romanticized style guide.
The '90s were formative for the medium of animation. On the silver screen, Disney animated musicals dominated the box office and awards seasons, while studios like Pixar and DreamWorks debuted their first feature films. On the small screen, the animation revolution continued in what we can now look back on as a unique convergence of passing generations. The Disney Afternoon programming block crested the wave of its success, oodles of beloved Nicktoons busted onto the scene, Cartoon Network launched, and some of today's longest-running animated series populated airwaves for the very first time.
Attempting to rank the best 90s cartoons is a nearly impossible task. Everyone has their favorites, whether we're talking about precious childhood shows or foundational barrier-breakers in adult animation.

Animation, in general, still doesn't get the respect it deserves, although things are changing for the better on that front thanks to folks like Guillermo del Toro (whose mantra that animation is an artistic medium and not a genre for kids has become a rallying cry among us animation lovers). But it's not just animation itself that's regarded as being inferior to live-action. Voice acting is a form of creative expression that requires just as much specialized skill and practice as live-action acting, if not more so. As we've seen time and time again, big-name stars and A-listers who are relative novices to the animation game are rarely a satisfying substitute for veteran voice actors — and certain roles simply demand the sort of expertise you can only really gain from years of voice-only performances.

Nicolas Cage as Dracula is grabbing all the headlines for director Chris McKay's vampire horror/comedy "Renfield," and deservedly so. But while Nicholas Hoult acquits himself very well as the subservient title character with pitch-perfect comedic timing and Cage steals the show through his penchant for hamming it up, Ben Schwartz also shines as the picture's secondary, foul-mouthed antagonist: a mobster named Teddy Lobo who gets himself mixed up in the Dracula and Renfield drama.
Everyone likely knows the actor from his meme-worthy role as Jean-Ralphio in "Parks and Recreation," his turn in Showtime's "House of Lies," or a plethora of voice performances in projects like "DuckTales," "Sonic," and more. Mondo is once again ready to save the day by giving fans of colorful vinyl albums our fix. This time around, the artist-forward collectible brand is delivering on the goods with a three-lp edition of the stirring, synth-y "Loki" original soundtrack from composer Natalie Holt. According to Mondo's official website, the new release is packed with goodies, from the multi-colored albums and their individual sleeves to an album cover with all-new artwork and a sneaky little item left behind by the Time Variance Authority -- a file folder insert that comes with the set.
Marvel fatigue may finally be setting in, but fans definitely showed up for "Loki" when it premiered on Disney+ in 2021, and the show had plenty of elements worth showing up for. The series' first season was enjoyable thanks to a trippy, time-bending plot and a stellar cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku,...

Don't let the cancellation of Hulu's "Reboot" fool you — resurrecting old TV series from the dead is still all the rage. "That '70s Show," "The Wonder Years," "Perry Mason," and "DuckTales," among others, have all found their way back to our screens. So I guess it was only a matter of time before someone had the grand idea to call upon everyone's small-town, folksy lawyer. CBS has ordered a return to the courtroom in the form of a "Matlock" robot. Variety reports that a pilot from writer and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman ("Jane The Virgin" creator) is in the works.
The original "Matlock," created by Dean Hargrove, aired from 1986 to 1992 with Andy Griffith playing the titular lawyer for the show's nine-season run. The series follows Ben Matlock, a very expensive criminal defense attorney with a penchant for solving murders. But unlike the gruff, crime-solving individual who usually leads these weekly murder stories,...

"Superman: The Animated Series" occupies a curious middle ground in the DC Animated Universe, the continuity built by artists including Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. It never earned the rapturous critical reception of "Batman: The Animated Series," which to this day generates oral histories extolling its greatness. It also lacked the epic scope of "Justice League," which told multi-part stories featuring a huge cast of characters across time and space. But "Superman" should not be underestimated. At its best, the show's staff reinvented and condensed comics canon as elegantly as "Batman" did. Crossover episodes united Superman with Batman, Lobo and even Green Lantern, paving the way for the widescreen action of "Justice League." Best of all, "Superman: The Animated Series" introduced characters from Jack Kirby's Fourth World, including the nefarious Darkseid.
The DC Animated Universe ended in the early 2000s, but continues to influence contemporary animated series based on the characters to this day.

As calendars across the globe flipped from 2022 to 2023, the world too said farewell to the journalistic legend, Barbara Walters. It felt fitting that Walters' passing was announced around the same time an episode of "20/20" would have been airing on a Friday night, proving that even in her final moments, Walters was a consummate professional who had her timing down to a science.
With a career spanning nearly 70 years, Walters became one of the most recognizable figures in the world, which made her ripe for parody and cultural inclusion. Just about every animated series under the sun had a reporter inspired by Walters and her presence in pop culture expanded far beyond her own work. To pay our respects and honor a legend, here are the five best Barbara Walters pop culture references.

Over the course of its five-season run, "Schitt's Creek" grew from a quiet sitcom with a sizable following to a full-blown cultural phenomenon. It's become impossible to remember life before Annie Murphy first uttered the words "Ew, David" and hardly a day goes by that I don't see a gif of Dan Levy looking absolutely disgusted as David. While the series will no doubt hold up as a heartwarming and hilarious rewatch until the end of time, the door has (mostly) closed on the Rose family hijinks, leaving audiences to wonder: what comes next for writer, co-creator, and star Dan Levy?
The answer is, unsurprisingly, a lot. Given the massive success of "Schitt's Creek" — which includes setting the Emmy record for most wins in a single season for a comedy series — the rush to produce Levy's next project was very real. He was courted and eventually signed a TV and movie deal with Netflix.

Walt Disney’s announcement that Bob Chapek would be stepping down as CEO and the retired Bob Iger was replacing him effective immediately has stunned the industry, with Hollywood taking the news with a mix of shock, confusion and (in most cases) approval.
A rival studio source noted that the timing was suspect and that it was less of a shock that Chapek had been removed than that Iger had agreed to return. “There is a real question of what is expected of (Iger),” they said, asking for anonymity, adding that it is generally expected that he would undo most of Chapek’s structural choices.
Multiple industry sources expressed shock at Iger’s return because the former (and now present) CEO so often declared that he and his wife Willow Bay were enjoying retirement. Moreover, this transition occurred just before Thanksgiving week and days before the theatrical release of Walt...

On "Star Trek: Prodigy," veteran voice actor Dee Bradley Baker plays the character of Murf, a sentient Mellanoid slime worm possessed of a sweet, childlike temperament. Murf hovers somewhere between crew mate and loyal pet, and appears to be indestructible. In an early episode of the show, Murf swallows a photon grenade which explodes inside it. The character is unfazed. Murf also, as of this writing, appears to be mutating into something new, and recently entered a cocoon and pupated into a similar but more humanoid creature with rudimentary limbs. Throughout, Murf has remained nonverbal, communicating through hums, mutterings, and sighs.
Baker is one of his generation's most prolific voice actors, playing not only superhero and "Star Wars" characters, but also providing animal noises for numerous productions. Tim Burton's 1989 film "Batman" was a hit the likes of which the world hadn't previously seen. In terms of cultural and advertising ubiquity, "Batman" even seemed to outstrip "Star Wars" in terms of its deep saturation. Burton's Gothic designs and Danny Elfman's Stravinsky-like score came to dictate a great deal of popular media that followed. Warren Beatty's 1990 film "Dick Tracy" is perhaps the most notable, big-budget "Batman" clone, using a lot of the aesthetic cues from "Batman," but adding more bright colors. Elfman also scored that film. Batman would then return in June of 1992 with "Batman Returns," an even stranger, more Gothic, more Stravinsky-inspired aesthetic.
The following September, Warner Bros. would keep Burton's stylized universe alive with Eric Radomski's and Bruce Timm's "Batman: The Animated Series," a show quite different from the bubblegum kid entertainment immediately surrounding it. "Batman: The Animated Series," like the Burton films,...

Many people throughout the years have been referred to as “Disney Legends,” usually based on their close proximity to the company or for working on multiple projects with them. But starting in the late 1980s, becoming a Disney Legend was something that would actually happen – you’d get a statue and a golden, lifetime ticket to all of the Disney Parks and your handprints would soon be immortalized in Legends Plaza, an area on the Disney Lot in Burbank (formerly the reflection pool for the masterful Team Disney Burbank building designed by postmodern architect Michael Graves). In recent years, a lavish ceremony has been added to the D23 Expo, the all-Disney version of Comic-Con, that happens every two years in Anaheim.

With an array of colorful characters and set pieces, Dominic Lewis rarely had to hit the breaks when it came to composing the score for "Bullet Train," allowing him the ability to explore a variety of creative impulses. As he told us, a few ideas might've gone too far (such as a fantastic-sounding spin on the "Thomas the Tank Engine" theme song), but he's reeling from the creative freedom he had scoring director David Leitch's film.
