The title for episode one of season two "Lay and Pray" is an informal pejorative MMA term for when a fighter is holding his opponent on the mat in top control throwing ineffective punches and not advancing his or her position. They are "laying" on their opponent and "praying" they are doing enough to win the round. It's a technique of winning rounds with little risk that can be relatively boring and is met with great contempt from fans who want to see an attempt at a finish.
