- As the king Francis returns to life, Nostradamus is back with a new prophecy about his death. Meanwhile the English ambassador is offering Mary a chance at peace by signing away her claim to the English throne.

- March 1560, Francis and Mary enjoy his 'second life', seemingly cured of all ills by Delphine at the cost of her mother's life. Mary signs as proposal of peace from Elizabeth I's ambassador Nicholas to give up her claim to the English throne. Despite Nostradamus warning Catherine and Francis of another vision of Francis's death, he and Mary set out on a trip to Paris, on the way stopping to frolic in a lake. Afterward, Mary is kidnapped by bandits, whom Francis chases before the guards arrive but is hurt and quickly afterwards dies still there, asking Mary to stay in France until Charles is king and the regency is secured, wishing Mary fall in love again. Mary, suspecting that Elizabeth was behind the bandits, confronts Nicholas in a rage and burns the accord. Later Mary learns that the bandits were renegade Scottish Protestants hoping to assassinate her. Bash -nearly drowning in bath- and Delphine break the spell that was binding them and track the mysterious murders down to a man that rips out people's hearts.—KGF Vissers
