"Anywhere But Here" was one of Gary's favorite jobs...EVER. You took him so far "out of the box" and you created scenarios that, usually, could only be so vivid, inside Gary's own mind. It was an honor to witness that. He never like to watch ANY of his work, especially anything from "Strokes," but he had no reservation, at all, about screening that video and staying in the room! I've thanked you, before, but I'll offer my appreciation, once again, on Gary's behalf and my own. Bravo.
From Rocky Schenck: I can remember vividly the evening I wrote the concept for this video, "Anywhere But Here" for Raging Slab, one of my all time favorite bands. They requested that I write my most outrageous concept ever - this would be our third video together. I fixed a king size martini, sat at my desk, and thought about a few of my favorite "things"... Gary Coleman, Bob Baker Marionettes, ventriloquist dummies, miniature golf courses, etc. After hours of writing and drunk out of my mind, I finished the concept... never thinking in a million years that anyone would give me the money to make this video, or that Gary Coleman would agree to be in it!!!!
Well, hallelujah, dreams do come true, and LORDY what an experience! Seeing Gary Coleman dance the "Funky Chicken" with two goat marionettes and a ventriloquist dummy rockin' out was a nightmare come true, baby!
