- The morning after, amid the aftermath of a rock festival, an abandoned Taylor Swift dazedly comes to her senses, with profound, if too late, insights into the loss of her lover of the previous wild night, in the music video for her song "I Knew You Were Trouble."—RavenGlamDVDCollector, ElectricLadyLand
- "Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground..." Taylor wakes up the next morning amid the strewn litter of a rock concert the night before. Lonely, dazed and abandoned. Like a day-old chick fallen from the nest. Thoughts run through her head. She feels betrayed, her lover had run out on her, but she feels she should have known better, and, actually, she did, so she only has herself to blame. "I knew you were trouble when you walked in... Shame on me..." She remembers the elated feelings of yesterday as she stumbles drunkenly through this wasteland with her emotions torn to shreds. She thought of this guy as an angel, and now, turns out he was just another predator. We see flashes of her riding with him in his open car, scenes of short-lived happiness before a fight broke out at a bar. Obviously, this dream guy was walking bad news. But would she come to her senses? Nah! Now here she is, lost and delirious, singing about her insights gained from this experience. Worst of all, is the sense that she sold out on herself, giving in to the temptation of this guy, losing her self-worth.
Many of her fans ate bound to relate to these musings.
The video itself was filmed as if for IMAX extra widescreen, and plays like a mini-movie, with Taylor narrating her turmoiled thoughts. While the song comes across as discordant, this fits in with the state of mind of the character singing the forlorn melody.
