In a move that should be shocking to absolutely no one, ABC named Ryan Seacrest its “American Idol” host on Thursday. Seacrest’s busy schedule doesn’t exactly offer a lot of flexibility — especially when you consider that “Idol” tapes in Los Angeles and his new gig as co-host of “Live With Kelly and Ryan” is Monday-Friday in New York City. And then there is his daily syndicated radio show, “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.” How is Seacrest going to possibly balance all of that? (Thank goodness “Knock Knock Live” didn’t make it to season 2.) Well, for starters, ABC built Seacrest an on-site.

In five episodes as a fill-in, the “American Idol” alum has averaged a 2.56 Nielsen TV rating. That’s good enough to rank him 20th among the many (67, to be exact) whom “Live With Kelly” tried out over the past 12 months. Below are a few folks who have done even better than the guy who’d like to forget his time on Fox’s “Knock Knock Live.” Also Read: Kelly Ripa Names Ryan Seacrest...

"Knock Knock Live" vanished faster than the lions in Africa.
After just two episodes, the show has been canceled. The concept was great; they show up to unsuspecting people's homes, give them cash and prizes (and sometimes their neighbors get cash and prizes), all with a celebrity host, Ryan Seacrest, they never dreamed they'd meet. But the show was far from perfect. Here are some things I loved (and hated) about Fox's "Knock Knock Live."
In just two episodes, "Knock Knock" had me crying. I'm an intimidating, muscle-bound black man; I look so tough when I walk in a room... the plants curl up and die! But still, "Knock Knock" had me crying. David Beckham and Justin Bieber were in the two episodes; Bieber gave a sick girl and her family $50,000 and Beckham gave an even bigger and deserving struggling family $100,000. In both cases, you could feel and see the...

Country singer Kellie Pickler is no stranger to reality TV. The 29-year-old appeared on the fifth season of American Idol, where she was able to secure a sixth place finish. Her strong performances on the Idol stage led to a record deal with Sony Records back in 2006. She would then go on to release her first album entitled, “Small Town Girl.” Her fourth album was released in 2013, which featured the song “The Woman I Am” that she wrote with her husband Kyle Jacobs. This is the same year that Pickler would appear on her second reality show. The songstress was a contestant on the 16th cycle of the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars. She, along with dancing partner Derek Hough, took home the coveted mirror ball trophy. Earlier this week, Pickler returned to the small screen with the new reality series Knock Knock Live, which teams her up once again with Ryan Seacrest.

“Knock Knock” “Who’s there?” Very few viewers. Fox’s “Knock Knock Live” — hosted by Ryan Seacrest — debuted to just a 0.5 18-49 demo rating and 1.7 million total viewers on Tuesday. As a result, Fox finished beneath Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo in the main demo, tying for fifth with ABC, which aired just one original program. That show was “Extreme Weight Loss,” which fell 25 percent from last week in ratings. Meanwhile, NBC finished first with “America’s Got Talent” and “Hollywood Game Night.” Telemundo won the bronze in the key demo, but didn’t fare as well in overall audience size.
