- TriviaAbove the door in the asylum, an inscription can be seen. It reads "MENS DANA IN CORPORA SANO." This is an altered version of the Latin phrase "mens sana in corpore sano," meaning a healthy mind in a healthy body. The misspelling is clearly on purpose. Corpora is plural, thus "bodies." The word dans is the present participle of do, which has several meanings, among which "to send to die." So the intended phrase might be "dying minds in health bodies," which would make sense in an asylum.
- GoofsThe Tower of London is not a prison, and never has been. It is a Royal Fortress. James would most likely have been taken to Newgate Prison for his imprisonment and torture.

Revealing the superhuman abilities of James Delaney
This episode reveals the superhuman ability of the character, James Delaney, to go for days without sleep or food, while drinking brandy non-stop and never losing his faculties or his energy. Delaney's abilities seem to come from being driven by his obsession with pursuing a goal that is only visible to his own mind.
Somehow, Tom Hardy makes this character come to life and to seem real and believable. I've never seen Hardy create a character like this one, though his acting talent has been on display for years before Taboo. Taboo represents, in my own opinion, the high point of Hardy's work. There might be better roles in the future for Tom Hardy, but I haven't seen anything like this before.
9 stars, out of 10 is well deserved here.
