Eamonn Walker: Wallace Boden

Quotes

  • Kelly Severide : The only reason why Riddle was up in everybody's business all of a sudden is because he thinks he's got a shot at making Fire Commissioner! Everybody knows that!

Wallace Boden : I don't like it either, but he is not wrong about the turnover rate of Squad 3.

Kelly Severide : So you agree, I'm the problem.

Wallace Boden : That is not what I said.

Kelly Severide : Is that why you brought in your poker buddy, to take over my job?

Wallace Boden : Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Careful. I chose him because I knew he wouldn't hurt the team. In the meantime, I am gonna bat for you as best I can. I have convinced Riddle to reassess your rank further down the road, provided you complete some management training.

Kelly Severide : "Leadership Hub of Chicago presents: Getting Troubled Managers Back on Track." This is a joke, right, Chief? This is how you go to bat for me?

Wallace Boden : You have to register for that today.

Kelly Severide : You know, Chief, I'll take the damn course, I'll take it and I'll get my bugle back, but I don't know that I can stay here and work under Patterson.

  • Kelly Severide : Hey, Chief.

Wallace Boden : Come on in, Kelly.

Kelly Severide : Chief Riddle, how are you?

Chief Ray Riddle : Very well, Lieutenant. Thank you.

    Dallas Patterson : Dallas Patterson.

Kelly Severide : Yeah, I think we met at Boden's wedding. Good to see you. So what's going on?

Wallace Boden : Chief Riddle's got some news.

Chief Ray Riddle : The high rate of turnover here at Squad 3 has raised a red flag at headquarters. In just three years, you've gone through Vargas, Mills, Clarke, Hadley, Newhouse, Mills again, and most recently, your friend, for whom you vouched, Scott Rice.

Kelly Severide : Each one of those men had a different situation. Family issues, injuries...

Chief Ray Riddle : But they all had one thing in common, Lieutenant: your leadership.

Kelly Severide : You're really gonna hold me accountable for all those men?

Chief Ray Riddle : Severide, a decision has been made. We're stripping you of your rank.

    Kelly Severide : What?

Wallace Boden : I'm really sorry, Kelly. I disagree with this, but... it is happening.

Chief Ray Riddle : Captain Patterson will be taking over command of Squad 3. Effective immediately.

Dallas Patterson : But I'd like you to remain with the company. Your reputation as a firefighter is not in question.

Kelly Severide : No, just my ability to lead.

Wallace Boden : It's a lot to take on board, Kelly. Why don't you give us a minute?

  • Wallace Boden : What is this?

Danny Borrelli : Yo, Chief Boden. Danny Borrelli. Jimmy's big brother. I'm over at Engine 67. Listen, uh, Jimmy told me about the whole misunderstanding earlier...

    Wallace Boden : Misunderstanding?

Danny Borrelli : Yeah, we were just hazing him. We didn't think it'd be a big deal...

Jimmy Borelli : Look, Chief, the long and short of it is, is that I blew it. I got nobody to blame but myself. I...

Danny Borrelli : Jimmy, the Chief and I are talking.

Jimmy Borelli : I just wanted to apologize for disrespecting you like that. I--I am truly sorry. You deserve much better from a new candidate. Come on, Danny, let's give the Chief his office back.

Danny Borrelli : That's it? That's your big speech?

[Danny leaves and Chief Boden closes the door in front of Jimmy]

Wallace Boden : You be here one hour before next shift. Not a minute later. You will not get another chance.

Jimmy Borelli : I'll be here two hours early and the floors will be mopped. Thank you, Chief.

    Wallace Boden : Good.

  • Danny Borrelli : Whoo!

Matthew Casey : What the hell's going on?

Danny Borrelli : Got a special delivery for you. Fresh from the CFD stork. Come on, buddy.

[he and his friend pull his brother Jimmy, who is tied in plastic wrapping and has duct tape over his mouth, out of the car trunk]

Danny Borrelli : Hoo! Good luck with the new candidate, fellas.

[he and his friend drive out of Firehouse 51's driveway, narrowly missing an oncoming car]

Christopher Herrmann : And the Moron of the Year award goes to...

Jimmy Borelli : [Otis takes off the duct tape wrapped around Jimmy's mouth]  Ah! Oh, man. What a show, huh? It's not my idea. Danny, he's a, uh, he's a real piece of work.

Matthew Casey : Chief... meet our new candidate, Jimmy Borrelli.

Jimmy Borelli : Oh, Chief. I was just telling them that, you know...

Wallace Boden : You been drinkin'?

Jimmy Borelli : No, sir, on my honor, I haven't touched a drop. Danny was pouring beer on me in the back. I-I told him, though, not to.

Wallace Boden : Go home, Borrelli. And don't come back to 51.

    Jimmy Borelli : Sir...

    Jessica Chilton : I gotcha. I'm Chilli.

    [alarm blares]

Emergency dispatch : Ambulance 61, female in distress, Racine El Station.

    Sylvie Brett : Bummer.

[as Brett and Chilli leave, Mouch takes out his knife and cuts off the plastic wrapping around Jimmy]
