- Harry meets Grace Billets in the parking lot, explains he was watching video, they have a lead from the porn film office. They have tracked a car to a big parking lot, it has dark SUVs, Harry suspects Feds. Inside, Harry follows a suited man to a locked door, he buzzes and asks to see the Agent-in-Charge. They are led through a busy workspace to see lead agent Jay Griffin. Harry updates and reveals they have video of an FBI car leaving the T&A Films office. Griffin refuses to help but acknowledges Allen was a peripheral figure in an ongoing investigation. Bosch demands the tapes they have but Griffin sees them out.
Arsenault and George Irving dress in a locker room, George is ribbed about his cologne. They go to a dry cleaner, George is sent in for a pickup, the owner gives him a white shirt in a box and charges $2.00. Back in the car Arsenault tosses the box into the back seat.
Billets says she will get Irving to help with the FBI. Bosch updates her on Veronica Allen, who has a past life as a hooker, real name Jessica Gilroy. Grace also tosses out a potted cactus, a gift from someone.
A CID tech shows Harry and Edgar the dead man's jacket, it has full fingerprints under the lapels.
O'Shea is on a newsclip, he denies running for Mayor. Irving watches and mutters BS. He takes a call from the Mayor's Office.
Keisha Russell from The Times calls Bosch. She says she has a woman caller saying she has information on the murder of Marjorie Lowe. Harry is skeptical, but takes the phone number and hangs up.
George and Arsenault return to their Van Nuys Station, Eddie gives George the shirt box.
Jerry finds something on the computer. He confirms with Crate & Barrel that Anthony Allen was an Armenian, when younger was a gang member in Glendale.
Harry is in the morgue looking at the corpse, the face had wounds from being punched.
Jerry gets an update from the detective cracking Allen's computer, the IT guy will work all night on it but asks for privacy.
George updates someone by phone at his apartment. The shirt box had stacks of cash.
Harry and Grace have drinks at a jazz bar. Harry probes a bit and Grace says Kizmin Rider met a younger woman then asked for a transfer. An Asian woman plays the sax.
Harry calls Eleanor, wonders if all is OK. Wish says yes, then Harry says he may be coming to Vegas soon.
Mayor Ramos meets with Irving, asks for the Chief's endorsement. They know he is going with O'Shea, and suspect Irving is looking to be named Chief. Both men are native Angelenos, Ramos also hints he would name Irving Chief.
In the morning Jerry has all the data from the computer. The porn films were a money laundering scheme. Harry has info on the phone records, the last calls were to Dolly's Strip Club in Vegas. Billets sends Harry to Vegas, tells Jerry to keep working on the financials.
Before he leaves for Vegas Bosch has to see Irving. The Deputy Chief hands him a CD from the FBI, it is redacted tapes about Allen, but the FBI stressed it is a matter of national security.
Bosch goes to Hidden Highlands. He asks Carl Nash about Allen and shows the picture of the brunette girlfriend. Nash didn't know Allen was into porn. Harry interviews Veronica Allen by the pool. She guessed her husband was up to something illegal but was insulated from the business. She admits she was an escort and previously arrested, she says she never touched his jacket, do she doesn't need to provide fingerprints. Harry leaves.
Arsenault and Irving watch a shadowy figure in the dark, they follow. They rough up the man in an empty house, a low level drug dealer. They take his cash but leave the drugs, a white powder with spider logo. Arsenault will want regular payments in return for some tips on police raids. George beats the man more to hammer home the point.
Harry calls Jerry to find anyone associated with the R-rated flick "Victim of the Night", to find out what Veronica Allen was like in the past.
A weary George Irving comes to his parent's house. Mother Connie greets him warmly and makes him dinner.
Harry listens to the Allen wiretaps on his drive and calls Eleanor to say he's coming. The girlfriend voice is nervous asking Allen if "he" and "her" will "find out".
