This was by far the best Ballers episode all season. It was the first time I felt the show properly explored everything involved in a football player's life behind the scene. Everything from the funhouse, to the MRI, to an interview to save a career, this episode really excelled on all levels.

In many ways this show has been a comedy with mixed dramatic elements sprinkled in. Well this episode felt more like a drama with a little bit of comedy, and it worked to its benefit. Ricky Jerret was the centerpiece as every one of his previous mistakes were put to the test in an interview with Jay Glazer. For one, it's really funny that they actually got Glazer to do the interview, but it also brought an amount of legitimacy to the episode's storyline. Luckily, we only got a few short scenes about Vernon and Reggie, because I have grown very tired of their presence on this show. And Charles ended up getting caught at Ricky's funhouse. But I don't think that storyline is concluded considering Charles is just going to be treated the exact same way he was before. It doesn't seem like his wife is all that willing to give up her power over him at the house.

Overall, this week was a big step up from last week as Ballers was not only a ton of fun, but really interesting. I really think this show has an advantage over other reality-like shows because of their willingness to go above and beyond and bring in people who have been in these situations before.

+Less Reggie & Vernon

+Realistic situations

+Ricky saves himself
