- The BAU searches Tallahassee for a serial killer who calls the authorities to report the crimes prior to committing them. Also, as Rossi prepares for a weekend visit with his daughter, Joy, he receives startling news about the death of a comrade from the Vietnam War.
- Rossi's planned vacation to go fishing with his daughter Joy is postponed when he learns that his old friend from the Marines, Harrison Scott, has just passed away from cancer. As such, Rossi heads to Los Angeles to pay his respects. In doing so, he gets some surprised support of his own. Meanwhile, the rest of the team heads to Tallahassee, Florida, where two people have been found shot in separate incidents with the same gun. Both were found in places of sanctuary, outside a hospital emergency and outside a church. While the hospital victim is alive but brain dead, the church victim died. While the team is en route to Tallahassee, there is a third victim, who also dies from his injuries. An eyewitness to the third shooting noticed that the shooter was careful where he shot the victim, almost like he didn't want to kill the victim or didn't want the victim to die quickly. Also consistent with the first two shootings, first responders were on the scene immediately, as if the unsub wanted the victim to be found quickly. The team will learn that a 911 call was made prior to the incident actually happening. But subsequent shootings, inconsistent with the first three, will alert to team to the connection between all the victims, and why the unsub has chosen his targets. They just have to determine how the unsub chooses his targets to locate him and his potential next targets.—Huggo
