The cover of the French book is a fake one. Sentence is strange without punctuation and "Arrête!" is written "Arréte!".
In one scene, Irene Saxon speaks French, saying "J'adore noël, j'adore les vacances." This translates as "I love Christmas, I love vacations." The correct French expression for "holidays", as in "Christmas", would have been "les fêtes". Mrs. Saxon was a French teacher but perhaps not a good one. (She speaks French with a very American accent.) She might have made an error due to confusion in her old age or because she was never fluent.
