We all know how much of a jerk Tony Stark can be and so seeing his father Howard Stark be just as manipulating and womanizing was enjoyable. They are blood related after all. Agent Carter doesn't particularly need Howard Stark on the show to succeed, but it was nice to have him back, considering most of what happens in the first 3 episodes revolve around him.
We had a few big revelations this week. Steve Rogers blood was apparently being used by Stark and Peggy didn't know about it. We knew from the pilot that Jarvis and Stark were hiding something from Peggy, so now we know what. Hayley Atwell is so good in this role. Her emotional response to this news was subtly perfect. She had a right to be upset, and plus that punch to Stark's face was very satisfying.
This type of show just doesn't work without a strong lead. It's hard to get a female centric show off the ground, let alone one that is set in the 40's and 50's. It really speaks to Atwell's acting ability and quite frankly her likability in this role. She got a chance to kick some butt again this week. But so did someone else, Dottie. Some had speculated that Lyndsy Fonseca's character may be the one hiding something, but it sure looks like Dottie is the one with something up her sleeve. I would be dumb to not talk about how awesome that Stan Lee cameo was! But let's face it, every cameo he does is wildly entertaining.
+Atwell
+Tony & Howard's similarities
+Dottie?
+Stan Lee!
