American Airlines is hoping for a show of good will from its pilots this Christmas.

Not only are early holiday decorators happier (according to one psychologist), this year, they also safeguarded their good cheer against an impending Christmas crisis.
The U.S. is facing a tree shortage this year, according to the National Christmas Tree Association (Ncta), which may drive up prices for consumers.

A cockatiel performing a medley of Queen songs seems like it would be one of the funniest things you might ever see. The medley isn’t really that long but it incorporates at least a couple of popular Queen songs such as Another One Bites The Dust and Radio Gaga. It might have been a lot more impressive had the bird been taught to whistle We Are the Champions or Bohemian Rhapsody. Those would have made any person’s eyes pop since it would indicate that the bird was a seriously impressive mimic. One thing you can say about this clip however

The Summoning was created by Australian artist Elyse Castro and released by Sony Pictures Animation and Frederator Studios on their Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel. Upon first watching you get the idea that this is going to be something creepy but cute, and possibly highly disturbing. Well, you were right if you thought that. There’s a certain advantage to posting such videos to YouTube, and it’s that kids might have to really search to find them. The chances are good they might find them before their ‘parents do but there’s also a good chance with this one that they either won’t know what they’re watching or that they won’t

Every few years, CBS dusts off a minute-long animated holiday greeting that first ran in 1966. Now, more than 50 years later, it’s unveiling several new animated shorts that were inspired by that original spot.
Renowned for its graphic art design, the vintage greeting was designed by illustrator/animator R.O. Blechman (The New Yorker, “The Soldier’s Tale,” “Sesame Street,” Alka-Seltzer ads) and produced by animator Willis Pyle (“Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” “Mr. Magoo”). Because it’s a minute long (the standard back then, but unheard of now, as commercials are stripped to as quick as six seconds), CBS doesn’t have the opportunity to run it often.

In this digital age of infinite screens and streams is an opportunity for liberation: Specifically, liberation from the families that we did not have the luxury of choosing. In 2017, Netflix and other platforms have been kind when it comes to giving us a glimpse at perhaps preferable family lives. So this Thanksgiving, it’s time we give thanks to the TV families who’ve been there for us no matter what — because, you know, they’re fictional.
The Byers (“Stranger Things”)
Despite the bloodthirsty monsters and suffocating slime, “Stranger Things” is all about the power of family. The writers kept their focus on the relationships between friends and family, and the extent that people endure in order to protect the ones they love. The Byers may not have the best luck in the world, but through every strange twist and turn they never once turned their backs on each other.

Ah, Thanksgiving, a day to put our cooking skills and our aptitude for non-violent conflict resolution to the test.
Families around the country will come together this Thursday to eat, drink, give thanks and remember that time a few hundred years ago when groups of people from different backgrounds and with disparate beliefs managed to come together to eat dinner in peace.
And if they can do it, so can we.
Any family gathering holds the possibility of disagreements among members of different generations or with conflicting political views, but with political tensions running especially high post-election, a universal dread...

When Americans think of Cuba, we tend to think of a place, and not a people. The same was true of East Germany, it’s still true of North Korea, and it will always be true of countries that are defined by their inaccessibility. Borders are blinding, and islands are isolated by more than just water. Only 105 miles separate Havana from Key West, but you can’t see anything on the horizon when you stand at the bottom tip of the United States and stare into the ocean.

Snakes, a bloody violin, and a whole lot of dust are just some of the telling images found in the “Godless” opening titles. The highly anticipated Netflix series, which stars an alarmingly rugged Jeff Daniels, is set to premiere on Wednesday, November 22, and the gorgeous title sequence forces its Western themes to shine, as “Godless” breaks down the deeply harmful consequences of war.
Composer Carlos Rafael Rivera layered a silky yet haunting string melody over the gritty images created by Method Studios, giving the Netflix drama a flair reminiscent of its premium channel competitors. An obscene amount of gun violence is expected and is called upon throughout the minute-long introduction, along with pictures of death, tough women, and political rivalry. The sequence was executive produced by Angela Lupo and produced by Emily Schaeberle, with Jonn Likens serving as creative director.
